sleep when the baby sleeps, dont give up on breastfeeding, and have patience and understanding for each other.

oh and remember, its not possible to spoil a newborn. u can never get to them fast enough, and u cant love them too much so hold that baby, and then hold it some more. :)Any Advice for new parents?
Congrats!

My advice is to sleep when the baby sleeps.

So i've been wearing makeup for a while but never really that much of it.. I like to keep it natural looking but maybe wear a little more. any suggestions of brands i can buy at the drugstore (walgreens, rite-aid, wal-mart). tips on how much, what kind, colors, etc. are helpful too. i have dark hazel eyes. thanks!Makeup advice for new school year..?

well this is what i wear like on a day to day basis. i wear that new foundation that dont go into ur pores but i think neutragena is like the best since it dont make it break out and i think it even helps them! and i wear powder bronzer and they have some thats cover girl. i have a very light shimmery powder that i think it just like makes my skin look perfect and my makeup even and its cover girl. i wear mascara thats maybelin i think; its a purple and yellow? and i wear liquid eyeliner how katy perry wears hers and its NYC brand.
im a covergirl maybellen girl myself and alll you really need is a good cover up and eye liner a couple good marscaras and your good.

    I'm 16 and starting a new school....any advice?

Kinda worried because I have an illness which means I had to stop going to the boarding school I was in. I really don't wanna be known as the sick kid.I'm 16 and starting a new school....any advice?
unless you show it, no one will know you're concerns about your illness. you don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to. stay positive, and have fun! new schools are exciting.I'm 16 and starting a new school....any advice?
i promise you, people aren't that cruel. i'm in year 10 and i know when you think ';secondary'; everyone thinks, gobby, horrible kids who have nothing better to do but bully and torture people.

but honestly as long as you come across as the type of person that knows how to have a laugh and are spot on (don't forget, yourself), people will forget that you have an illness.

if your illness is visible though, it could be a little harder but as long as no one knows about it, what can people do but speculate?

if people aren't sure they tend not to even mention it of fear of embarrassment.

but because you are in the older years people are a lot more grown up and want to know you for who you are not what you've got. And i'm sure you can handle a few ';i think i'm so cool';(but i'm not) years 7's.

hope i helped, good luck with th new school :D
Be truthful about your illness and dont listen to the kid about being 10 inches, just be pretty quiet and humble, try not to get on anyones bad side and BIGGIE...make friends with dudes before you make friends with chicks cuz if you appear to be getting attention from some girls then the guys might resent you before getting a chance to know you, and you could end up with some guys ex and that wouldnt be good at all ha. well good luck
I mean.... if your sick your sick. Dont let people get you down. Just be normal dont be like yeah i sick and be all shy. Show your true personality. Let that shine above your sickness.

Believe me if you let yourself be you then people really dont pay it any mind. Sure, people might say yeah he has an illness but they wont go awww he sick blah blah blah.....because that all they can say about you. Give them something to talk about other than that.

If people are still like that then they are not worth your time. Keep your head up and find people that will look past that. Dont go out your way to impress someone who doesnt see you for who you really are.

    I'm sure you'll do great!

Good luck on your new school.
Just be nice and don't get too worried about your illness messing up your schoolmates' impressions about you. Try making friends. Friends accept you for who you are, whatever your condition is.

Don't go wandering alone and looking lonely all of the time. Give those who notice you a warm smile. (Cause if you gave them all a warm smile, they might think that it's just a fake smile...)
Don't do anything under peer pressure.. As cool or exciting as it may seem then, in a few years you will never see or care for these kids again, so don't waste your time and do anything out of your comfort range to impress them.
So don't let our illness define you. Always stay upbeat, and if you don't want to talk about your illness, don't. Only share it with people who are friends and who won't label you for it. All the other people can suck it.
act as if you don't. that's all.

and be friendly... be friends with who you want to be friends with, but choose your friends carefully. you don't want to get stuck with the wrong crowd...
go up to the school bully and clock him in the nose and before he knows whats going on kick him in the ribs and just pound away. People will fear you from then on.
    GOOD.LUCK.

no but seriously no ones going to bother u..

no one bothers ';sick kids'; they wont be mean..

people make them out to be monsters but if u have the right friends and the right confidence, high school will be the best time of your life.(:
School years are always the hardest...some people judge to early so try get to no new friends who understand :) best of luck in your new school x
sell your medicinal marijuana and you can be everyones friend
act confident but not 2 confident tht u come out snobby...

talk 2 whoever u sit next 2 in ur first class...

whoever slags someone coz of an illness is quite frankly sad and immature
Just be kind to everyone and you'll be fine.
    Just be yourself.
    dont tell anyone
condoms in your bookbag and wallet.

tell everyone your rich and it's 10 inches soft

I want to buy a new car....advice please?

I drive a 2002 pontiac grand am, with over 100,000 miles. I think it's at like 103,000 miles. There are some (vanity) things I need to fix on it but other then that it is a very reliable car. I was wondering if I should trade the car in or sell it independantly. Also, the car that I would like to buy is a Honda Element SC. Are they very good cars? Should I go for it because another car I like is a Scion TC. Which should I go for, I thought the Element would be more bang for the buck because i'm kind of sick of driving a tiny cramped car.I want to buy a new car....advice please?
just make sure you drive the Honda it's a big vehicle and the ride is a bit stiff compared to a car.

but it's highly recommended and very reliable.I want to buy a new car....advice please?
If you're tired of small cramped cars, the TC may not do much for you. On the other hand it is a very well equipped, great looking, fun to drive, economical to own ride.

The Element has all of those features plus loads of interior space, AND it's made in Marysville, Ohio. The E's styling is unique, which some people can't handle, but Element owners generally relish its different look. For more insight on the Element check out http://www.elementownersclub.com. It's a great site that even includes buying tips.

Speaking as a former Pontiac Grand Am owner, you've gotten about all you're going to get out of that ride. A dealer won't want it. You probably won't get much selling privately and it may take a while. Don't mean to be a downer here, just realistic. You may have enjoyed the Grand Am, but unless there's something really unique about it, it's not a high demand vehicle. They're everywhere. GM sold a ton of them. You'll make more money by getting great financing and driving a hard bargain on your new car purchase. Good luck!
Once the $300 a month car payment starts it is a forever payment that does not stop for years. I have an old car and I am not embarrassed to drive. It runs good and serves the purpose of getting me every where I want to go... Without a $300 a month payment... If buying a new car is an ego luxury item -- think twice about the monthly payment to satisfy your ego...
It takes about 60 days or more on average to sell your car independently with lots of advertising so trading your car in would be faster. The element SC is actually pretty sporty looking and might be the perfect car for you, though it is a little pricey compared to the scion xb and tc. I can tell you though if the Grand am was cramped for you, the TC will be the same if not worse. While your at the scion dealer take a look at the Xb you'll pribably like that as well. The only downfall I've heard from the Element is that people feel it is underpowered. Enjoy your car shopping!!
No don't buy a stupid Japnese Honda.... Buy an american ford or GM
Assuming the Pontiac is paid for I would not sell a car that is proven to be dependable that you can drive for free.

A new tC or Element will cost between $18k and $24K and come with payments averaging $380 - $450 a month for the next 5 years.

Even if the Pontiac started giving you maintenance problems it would be much cheaper to fix it then it would to pay for a new car.

For example Spending $1000 a year ($500 - $600 every 6 months) to repair your Pontiac is way cheaper than paying $4560 ($380 x12) a year to drive something new.

I can think of a lot better things to do with my money than spending it on a different car.
honda is not bad car although i do prefer vauxhal and with such a high milage i'd be inclined to use it as a trade in most garages do a set price no matter what state ur car is in if you shop around you can get a really good deal
i would take advice from friends with good cars like that.
In my experience, unless there is something wrong w/ the car other than cosmetic, you should try to sell it yourself. Look up the blue book for your car in your condition. Take off $500-1000 dollars and expect to sell it for 500-1000 less. This technique has worked well for me. Both cars I had to sell sold w/in 2 weeks. Unless this price comes to $500 you are better off to sell yourself. Since your car is fairly new, it will sell better. Otherwise, go to buy your new car and know what the blue book for your car is and demand that price or you won't buy the new car, but this can end up getting you a not so good deal on the new car. I don't know anything about the cars you are looking into other than Honda is great. I have a Pontiac G6 GT. I love it. I have the 4 door so it isn't cramped, and they have the new G8 which makes me drool.
You should always get a better price if you can sell a vehicle rather than disposing of it as a trade.

From Consumer Reports 2008 Annual Automotive Edition

For vehicle reliability, the '03-'07 Element receives a top overall rating. Of the 18 individual categories that make up the overall rating, the worst rating is good for body hardware for '03, '05, and '07 and body integrity for the '03.

The '05-'06 Scion TC would rate one level below the Element in overall reliability and the '07 is two levels below. Body integrity for '05-'07 receive the worse rating possible, with some additional problems with paint/trim, body hardware, The '07 has some additional areas of concern - audio system %26amp; power equipment.

There are a lot of reliable vehicles in all sizes. If your local library has the 2008 CR annual auto issue, it is a good source of info to guide you to a price range, size, and reliability that fits your needs.

Thinking of buying a brand new car, advice needed UK only.?

I am now 21, I am thinking of buying a brand new car as i will be driving 80 miles a day.

I would like a small diesel car, I would want something over 100 bhp and good mpg, but understand this may not be possible. in addition i want the service costs to be reasonable.

I have 7 grand cash, wont need finance and willing to stretch for the right car.

I have done a bit or research and there are a lot of free insurance deals out there for example FORD range, Mazda 2, Corsa, C2 are all offering free insurance for at least a year, as insurance is around 1000 GBP it makes scene to go for one of theses deals

    What car would you recommend?

    Thanks Guys

Help?...I need a little new parenting advice! Wife experiencing first bits of Post-partum Depression...?

My wife and I just had a little girl in August. Wife has long Hx of depression. I have been fearing she would get PPD from the get-go. She has been on Prozac prior to the pregnancy with positive results. If I put her back on Prozac she will sacrifice her breastfeeding regimen with our daughter... Definitely, not an ego-booster there!

My sex-life with her has been nil since the beginning of the pregnancy...I am coping though! I just worry that if I don't something soon. It will get seemingly worse and something happen to our relationship as husband/wife-dad/mom.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!Help?...I need a little new parenting advice! Wife experiencing first bits of Post-partum Depression...?
First thing to remember right now is that you are not alone! 1 in 8 women suffer from PPD... so their husbands are going through what you're going through as well. Know that it is treatable and you鈥檝e taken a very important first step.

This is such a serious situation, YahooAnswers just doesn't seem enough... as much as I love my fellow AnswerMates ;-) Personally, I feel giving your little angel formula and getting your wife back on Prozac would be the best and safest route to go. However, you will need to do everything possible to help your wife understand it's not her fault and it in no way means she failed her daughter in any way by not being able to breastfeed. It happens. The mental and physical health of your wife and the all around benefits to you and the baby far outweigh the benefits of breastfeeding... but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, this site has some very interesting info/treatment suggestions. You may have already read them but here they are...

Best of luck!!! Please post letting us know what you guys end up doing and how it goes. We'll be praying for you. Help?...I need a little new parenting advice! Wife experiencing first bits of Post-partum Depression...?
It is always the same a lot of women dont feel like it after having a baby because their hormones are all over the place and they are very tired too.

All you can do is help her with the baby as uch as you can, breast feeding is going to limit how much you can take over.

You have to be patient and when she stops breast feeding make sure you have some qualtiy time togeather.

you seem like a caring husband and i dont think she needs Prozac at this time in her life.
Congratulations on the baby girl! My oppion is deffantly talk to a doctor. The first thing that the doctors told me before I left the hospital after having my littke girl was if there were any symptoms of PPD to seek a professional. Its very common yes but it can get really bad, if you let it go. I would rather see her get help so you little girl can grow with both parents around. There are meds out there that she can take and still breast feed.
dont want to scare you but get professional help before its to late and you regret it forever. I know someone whos wife just committed suicide, leaving behind 2 small children. help her.... do whatever it takes.
You need to sit down and talk about it with her. She can do other things besides sex to please you! Its better to tell her how you feel rather than going else where!
Firstly, congratulations on your little girl! Secondly I admire you for expressing such great concern for your wife's wellbeing. Post natal depression is apparently reasonably common but you are doing the right thing by raising a concern. I would definitely suggest you both seeing a GP for a start and/or your wifes psychiatrist. They would know of any alternatives to the Prozac and would be your best port of call. Don't take the issue lightly, you definitely need to take action ASAP and work together to overcome this problem. As for the sex life I would say (as frustrating as it may be) that you need to deal with the depression first before you raise that issue with her. Goodluck!

  • Any advice about making new friends in high school?

I'm starting high school this year and I am totally freaked! There are so many people at the school I'm going to and chances are, I'll have a couple classes with no one I know! A few of my friends are going to different schools which makes it even worse. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for high school, I just don't have much experience in making new friends. Any advice, personal experiences?

Also, (you don't have to answer this part if you don't want too but...) Every time I like a guy I end up becoming really good friends with him but it never goes any farther, I'm not ready to seriously date or anything but still its kinda frustrating. What should I do differently next year?Any advice about making new friends in high school?
    Just enjoy the ride.

You might not like how things are progressing with your guy friends, but hey; you probably won't marry any of them, so don't sweat it.

As for making friends- just be a friendly, likeable person.

Don't backstab and you'll be radiating qualitites any person would be lucky to have for a BFF.Any advice about making new friends in high school?
i know you heard this advice before: just be yourself, last year also i was really scared on starting highschool first of all nobody from my middle school was going to my highschool except for like 7 people i just knew three, and i went with an open mind and a positive attidude being friendly and outgoing and made lots of friends in no time! im sure youll be able to make lots of friends to, oh yeah it helps to keep away from backstabbing people even if you dont like something about them keep it to yourself or tell it to a family member it'll help a lot cuz most of the time you end up being friends with that person and helps a lot when they know u can be trusted.
you are just like me on my first day of high school i was nervous and scared that i woudlnt make any new friends. if you follow these steps you will have a great year in high school and make new friends:

    1) WHEN YOU GO ON YOUR FIRST DAY TRY TO BE COOL AND NOT TAKE CRAP FROM ANYONE.

    2) TRY NOT TO ACT TOO EXCITED WHEN YOU MEET NEW PEOPL)THEY MIGHT THINK YOU'RE WEIRD).

    3) FIND THE PEOPLE YOU ARE MOST SIMILAR TO.

    4) BE FUNNY BUT NOT ALL THE TIME, TELL JOKES WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT'S THE RIGHT TIME.

    4) ON YOUR FIRST DAY GO TO SCHOOL IN YOUR BEST OUTFIT AND LOOK YOUR BEST.

    5) TRY NOT TO DO NOTHING EMBARASSING.

    6) CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISLEY TRUST ME YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU THINK SOMEONE IS YOUR FRIEND AND THE STAB YOU RIGHT IN THE BACK.

    HOPE THIS HELPS
just be yourself, thats all you need to do,you know, trying to be someone else can be really bad to do!
um...for the making friends thing just try to do things u like to do but will help u get new friends...

    like

    1. just talk and be nice to ppl

    2. do things like afterschool activites and those things

and for the thing with the dudes

    ...just still be urself

i mean someday u'll probably find a guy who likes how u r...dont rlly do anything different next year about the guy situation bcuz thers no point on rlly pretending something that ur not for a dude and just be urself and someday ull find a guy who likes u for u
Ever notice how almost everybody loves dogs? How does a dog react when you've been away awhile? It's because dogs act in the moment as if you're the best thing since steak that they are man's best friend.

Now I'm not suggesting you hump people's legs when you first meet them, but outgoing, plenty of smiles and happy always works.

Dale's book is old.. but it's not like people have really changed.

    http://www.amazon.com/How-Win-Friends-In鈥?/a>
b urself. ';one who weres a mask for to long, forgets who they really are.'; if they cant accept u 4 u and ask u 2 do crazy stunts, then they aint worth ur friendship. kk? be urself. all u gotta do.. good luck =]
    1) First you need to decide who you are, then you will be able to decide what type of people you should gravitate towards. Try to identify your predominant interests. For example, if your main focus is on heavy metal, then look for kids who you dress in a rocker fashion, etc. I know its hard, but dont conform yourself to make friends.

    2) I went through the exact same thing! I ended the cycle by actually telling my male friend how I felt, and luckily he felt the same way. I think your having trouble because you never give any hints or signs that you like your friends. Try be flirty and if you think they like you back SAY SOMETHING!!!

    good luck ;)
if you want advice from a old foggie, then just be yourself. if they are going to like you, then they will take you as you are. just do like you did when you were in middle school.

Advice on new tires for '02 silverado??

Have an '02 Silverado with OEM size tires on that need replaced. Rims are 16';, would like to go with a bigger tire. what can I get away with without having to lift kit the truck? Possibly considering new rims as well. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.Advice on new tires for '02 silverado??
Go to 4wheelparts.com you can find everything you need on tires they will even tell you how big you can go with out lifting your truck.I'd go with some super swamper truxus tires theyre a good all around tire thats what i run on my rig.Advice on new tires for '02 silverado??
My 03 with the z71 package Had 17 inch rims and I jumped to 30/10's without a problem.
I have stock 265/70/R17 on my Chevy Avalanche that would fit easy on your truck. Was thinking of going to 285/70/17. Should fit with no trouble. All Terrain Baja tire looks mean.
go to tirerack.com the have lots of tires and rims, they also have a feature that you can see what the tires and rims look like on your vehicle
If you stick with your 16'; rims, look for some 265/75R16's. If you have a lot of room in your wheel wells, you might even be able to fit 285/75R16. Is it a 2500? They have more fender room than the 1500.

If you want that tall, skinny tire African safari rig look, I like the 235/85R16. They're about the same height as the 265/75R16 but quite a bit narrower. I like the narrow look, and they're nice driving---they really cut through water, snow and mud. Another advantage is that they're load range E, so you can really load up the truck without having to worry about the tires. They might ride a little stiffer, but that's the way I'd go.

Kerouac Style Travel Project advice- Portland Oregon through Chicago and to New York.?

For a college project, I am going to be traveling from Portland, through Chicago, and then to New York writing an oral history on hobos and drifters. I'm wondering for any advice on how to travel. I want to be relatively safe, but my first thought was ';What would Jack Kerouac do?'; Of course I know On the Road was written 50 years ago and hitchhiking has become a bit more dangerous, but I need to find a way to meet as many people as possible along the way. Any ideas for cheap travel besides greyhound? Or would that be my best bet? Still planning this thing out and would deeply appreciate any advice on this...also, anybody wanna go? :)Kerouac Style Travel Project advice- Portland Oregon through Chicago and to New York.?
People hop trains and hitchike every day. It isnt all that dangerous, Im a chick and have hitched around just fine. You can make good money bumming change at gas stations, and most truckers will give you a lift at least to the next stop. The best places to catch rides are at on ramps to highways, gas station, truck stops, and rest areas. Make sure you have a pocket knife or some mace or a cell phone just in case, but you shouldnt have any trouble. From Chi town to NY, you'd have better luck w/ trains, as people are kind of assholes up there (especially when it comes to sharing something like a car) you can get crew changes w/ times, dates, and tracks, at any city's local libraries.

Hopefully you arent doing the project to demoralize squatters, cuz the way this country is going we'll all be in the box next to them very soon.

    New student,any advice?

I am24 and for the first time in 6 years I am going to uni. does any one have any tips or advice?New student, any advice?
Being a graduate from college myself, the one thing of advise i would give to you is:

Dont do the work just to get it done and out of the way, Do the work in order to actually learn something.

After graduating I sometimes would look back and wished I would have spent more time on certain projects or lectures. Mainly in order to have the information stick rather than have it be forgotten a semester later.

You are paying for an education, mind as well get your moneys worth!New student, any advice?
    Just focus on school
Just be yourself. Thats the best way.
Make sure you take good lecture notes and that you start thinking about essay questions far in advance. Generally, in uni I find that its the people who understand ONE particular area very well--rather than those who try to understand the whole course--that seem to excel. But that's largely because I'm in essay-based classes. If exams are an issue, I'd still say the same thing, except do a major cram at the end of term to get the big picture superficially. That's the best angle from a marks perspective.

If you're going to learn-- like me-- I'd say just listen up! ^_^ and stay interested in the material.
    If your professor assigns readings--read!
First of all, welcome back! Secondly, look at it as an adventure. Sure, some things will be irritating, and others will be difficult for you if you don't remember them after 6 years, but these things will be more than made up for by the additional maturity and stability you have by your age. Enjoy, and I wish you a great experience!
yes. read books, let your mind get used to swallowing information, get your reading comprehension up by reading informative books. quiz yourself, just to make sure you are getting the info. good luck!
just be urself and read read read
The first couple of weeks will probably be tough, it's getting the brain to think like a student again!!! (I went back at 40). But eventually, it'll come back - the study skills, the writing, etc. It's like riding a bike, you never forget!
Do the best you can, school is like expressing yourself, interact with students and the teacher... I look at it like this, the money you spend to educate yourself mineaswell be worthwhile and enjoyable.
read the texts... it's not high school and they will not hold your hand or remind you when things are due or even assign reading, they ';assume'; you are doing the work on your own so if you are in the class and they say such and such is due on the last day of class... you probably won't be reminded again until they ask where yours is...
what kinda tips r u looking for.. when i went back to college i made new friends, kept in touch w/some and we even helped each other out when it came to assignments.
It's intimidating going to uni for the first time but you just have to remember that everyone else is just as intimidated (possibly more, since you're a little older). Remember to smile; if you look too self possessed then people might think you're snobby. They'll be loads of opportunities to go out, you don't have to do every single one and try not to get too drunk before you know your way home! Join a society or two, they're a great way to meet peopl and not too akward since they don't just rely on conversation, you do stuff too. Joining more than two is probably pointless though, you just won't have time. Don't buy all the textbook they say you need, I've hardly opened mine in three years. You can get anything useful from the library anyway. There's never any parking on campus so I wouldn't bother driving (if you're in the UK anyway). Oh and if you get lost or need to know anything just ask whoever's closest; they'll probably love looking like they know stuff and if they don't, at least you'll know you're not the only one getting by on bluff and luck. Have fun, you'll be absolutely fine!

Congrats on going back to school. I would recommend buying as many used books as possible if the college bookstore doesn't have used look for the ISBN number on the back of the books and order them on-line. Take part in discussions, some instructors grade on this others just want some reassurance that they are being understood. Take notes and read, all instructors will have different testing methods, some only test over notes some over both. You will find this out as the classes progress. Don't be afraid to use the writing center if you college has one, it always helps if you have someone (especially writing tutors) look over your papers. And if you are going to miss class or be late let your instructor know.

  • Looking to buy a new computor to replace a dell desktop.Any advice welcome.?

Looking for value but have up to 2500 dillars for screen keyboard or computor. Am I better with desk or laptop?

Brands? Store?Looking to buy a new computor to replace a dell desktop.Any advice welcome.?
Wow. Tough question because so much depends on personal opinion. So here goes. I prefer laptops because of the convenience of being able to move around or take it with me when I'm traveling. You can get upgrades to 4GB RAM, 160GB (or larger) hard drives, dual core processors, etc. Laptops today are more powerful than desktops of just a couple of years ago.

    http://www.dell.com/content/products/fea鈥?/a>

I prefer Dell computers (laptop or desktop.) I use Dells at work and each family member owns a Dell. We've never had a problem because of a manufacturing deficiency (lots of problems because of our own stupidity, however!)

The only drawback to a laptop is the relatively small hard drive space. But that's easily solved by getting an external hard drive for photos, music, etc.

Anyway, hope this gives you something to think about. Good luck on your purchase!

I got some from bestbuy that have lasted forever... I think they're like jelly? or gelly? something like that. They weren't too expensive.. around $15. But there are a bunch of different colors and stuff.Skullcandies %26gt;.%26lt; make me very sadface... Advice on new headphones?
This will all depend on what kind of headphones you're looking for.

If you want earbuds, you will want to look at some middle to high-end Sony, maybe Phillips or Panasonic.

However, if you really want good bass and quality headphones, you will want to get real headphones. I suggest around-the-ear studio-grade headphones. They may look a little funky, but they'll deliver great sound. Brands to look for: AKG, Sony, Sennheiser, and Nady.

Advice? What are some tricks to adjusting to new job with new clientel? Anxiety level is up do to this change!

All new jobs require an adjustment period, usually 1-3 months depending on the job. Try circling a date on your calendar that's at least a month away, and promise yourself that you won't be too hard on yourself until you hit that date. You'll be surprised how fast the time goes by, and when the date comes, I bet you'll be all settled in.

And remember, you're not alone, people change jobs all the time. There are probably lots of other anxious people trying to get started just like you.

Not sure what sort of work you do, but think about what you need to prepare, such as ordering business cards.

If appropriate, call clientele to introduce yourself. Can you give some sort of opening special discount to get things going?

Also, if you're nervous, get a nice new haircut or buy some new clothes. You'll feel more confident when you look your best.

If your job has colleagues, as someone out for coffee on your first day. Try to solicit some tips for success in the new workplace. See if you can build a relationship so you will have someone to grab lunch with.

Good luck!Advice? What are some tricks to adjusting to new job with new clientel? Anxiety level is up do to this change!

  • Getting New Puppy _ Need Advice?

I'm looking at getting a 7 week old Maltese puppy. This will be my first dog. I hear puppies ';yell'; a lot at night. Is it best to use a kennel or a baby gate and gate them off in a small part of the house? Any tips to help with the yelling? How long does it last? Do I just ignore it? Any advice on how to handle a new puppy would be appreciated.

ThanksGetting New Puppy _ Need Advice?
    Hi,

what I am about to say may make many dog owners throw up their arms in horror... but still, this is my opinion, based on bringing up two puppies - the first time round I listened to all the ';expert advice'; and lived to regret it bitterly, the second time I did what my heart told me was right.

First of all.... wait until the pup is at least 8 weeks old before taking it away from mum and the siblings. This one extra week of maternal care will make a huge difference to the mental development of your dog.

I guess many people will tell you to get a crate and to shut your pup in there at night ';for it's own safety'; and to let it cry and not to ';give in to it';. I did just that with my first pup. It was the worst advice I have ever followed. I won't go into the if's and but's - suffice to say that in my view this is cruel and unnecessary. By all means, get a crate if you think you need one - personally I hate the things and so do my dogs... but I do know of dogs who love them and crates may have their uses at times. Dogs are all different.

However, back to your pup - just put yourself in the little dog's paws .... taken away from mum and siblings, strange new smells, new environment, strange new humans.... can you imagine the stress levels? How would you feel ?

So here is my advice. Decide where in the future you want your dog to sleep at night.... then put up a camp bed and sleep there with your pup for the first week or so - close by it's own warm comfy bed, so you can touch it and comfort it when it cries and preferably let it out in the garden in the middle of the night, if necessary...

I guarantee you - not only will you have an extremely close bond with your dog for the rest of your life's, but you will have it potty trained in no time at all. Sure, it will be a bit of an inconvenience for a week or so, but it will also give you both immense pleasure and comfort and it will pay dividends for years to come.

My little pup would usually sleep through the first part of the night - then wake and get restless .... which woke me, and I took it out for a wee. Then we both went back to sleep and the little rascal would creep into my bed and snuggle up to me until the morning. It had accepted me as its new mum....

After a week or so it felt secure enough to sleep alone. I never had any anxiety problems as a result - unlike with my first dog....

One other word of advice.... Please do your homework re the vaccination issue. Read the following website thoroughly. http://www.newvaccinationprotocols.com/C鈥?/a>

The longer you wait to vaccinate your pup, the better its chances to stay healthy. You do NOT need to vaccinate every year... once a dog has formed antibodies, they will be there for at least 7 years, but probably for the life time of a dog. If you keep giving so called ';booster'; vaccinations, you might do more harm than good.

Good luck with your little one....Getting New Puppy _ Need Advice?
I just got a puppy this past sunday and we are crate-training her. This is the best because it keeps the pup from chewing everything in sight. Also it helps with house breaking, since they won't go to the bathroom where they sleep and eat. The yelling and crying has to be ignored, unless you think she has to be let outside or to a training pad to go to the bathroom. Also, I have been sleeping in the room next to her crate so I can here her in the night, when she has to go outside. Puppies chew EVERYTHING so be patient. Good Luck!
When I got my puppy he screamed all the time at night. We didn't crate him because he would scream louder and longer while in there. We got him a little bed and put him there at night when we went to bed. He would scream for a little bit, but eventually stopped after about a week. I think every one has to go through this and it's just takes some time. No matter if you put him in a crate or a bed he will scream. Some nights I would put his bed in my room and talk to him until he went to sleep. That seemed to comfort him just to be near me and hear my voice. Good Luck with your new baby!
don't get the pup until it is 10-12 weeks old. that extra time to be with its mother and littermates will solve half the problem.

7 weeks old is too young (in some areas illegal) and at that point, the pup will be plenty scared.

by 10-12 weeks, the pup will have developed a little more confidence, and will be more eager to explore than to freak out.

the best thing to do is crate the pup in your room or near your room. the pup will be comforted hearing you breathe.
No pup should leave it's mother at 7 weeks old. Get online and find out how to look after it if you can't leave it until it is ready to be parted from it's mother.
Keep them in your room so you can comfort them.
I sudjust when you get it keep him in the bed room and give him a dog pad to pee on
You may want to visit this site to know more information about maltese.

    http://lnk.nu/dogtime.com/rxe.html
7 weeks is too young to separate a pup from her mother. She should be at least 8 weeks.

Have you done any research on Maltese?

You may want to enroll her in puppy classes, which train basic commands (come, sit, down, stay, heel). You may be interested in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program (link below).

If your puppy can't quit chewing the furniture, there is a product named ';Bitter Apple';. Although I have never had to use it myself, I've heard it works.

You will want to crate train your puppy. It eases housebreaking and keeps the dog out of mischief when you are not at home.

Your puppy will probably whine and cry at first. You must ignore this. You cannot give her the idea that if she begs she will be let out of the crate. Only let her out when she has quieted down.

You will notice a divider in the box. At first this will puzzle you: what is this random piece of metal for? It is used for housebreaking: you use it to squish the puppy in and give it no room to do its business (sounds cruel, I know, but it works). Just give her enough room to lied down comfortably. Nothing more, nothing less. This method relies on a dog's natural instinct not to soil themselves. However, when using this method, you must take the dog out regularly. Just because she has this instinct doesn't mean she can hold it forever. Try to take her out every couple of hours (you're going to be going out with her a LOT for the first few months until she's developed proper bowel control).

Put her within earshot during the night in case she needs to go out. She will start crying or something, so be prepared to have to jump out of bed at 3 in the morning and walk her. Always praise epically when she has done her business outside.

Also, buy a crate that will fit her for when she is an adult.

Lastly, if you're planning on spaying or neutering your new puppy, why not try adopting? Shelter dogs are generally up to date with shots and have already been spayed/neutered (but some shelters jump the gun and fix before 6 months which is too young, so be careful).

New Bird Owner Looking For Advice?

I am looking into purchasing a bird. Never owned own but always wanted one. I plan on buying a pair to keep each other company. As a newbie to birds would you recommend a parakeet or finch as a starter bird. Which one is quieter and more manageable to maintain. Any advice would really help.New Bird Owner Looking For Advice?
Please ignore the person who says to get only one. That's a tired and stupid old wives tale and it's shameful to see ignorant people still passing that bad advice around.

I have cared for several dozen parrot-type birds over the past 15 years, and I know that avian companionship (other birds) is very important to them. I have never had a bird who got mean or ignored me or didn't like me because they had a bird friend. I currently have three non-breeding pairs of birds. They keep each other company when i'm not around and are glad to see me and spend time with me when i get home.

Two cockatiels or two budgies (sold in pet stores as parakeets) are a great way to get started. Be aware that these are very intelligent animals who need complex diets (not just seeds), plenty of companionship, space, toys and mental stimulation, and that they live for many years if well cared for. Only get them if you are ready to learn to care for them and to make the commitment to care for them. Good luck.New Bird Owner Looking For Advice?
I agree with east bay. We have alot of birds right now, and our sun conure and one green quaker have actually ';bonded'; and share a cage. They are still as friendly as the day I got them. If you raise birds around each other and still interact with them daily, they won't become mean and nasty to people. Finches you won't be able to handle most likley. Parakeets I've always found hard to tame, exspecially for beginners. (unless you find a breeder that has them already hand tame. Some good smaller birds to start with that are eay to tame, handle, and aren't as loud are parrotlets, lineolated parrakeets, meyers parrots, quakers (they are much louder than the others, and they are illegal in some states because they are looked at as an invasive species. But I love these little birds- they have awesome personalities).

    Good luck
Finch are more ';look only'; pets. They do best kept in groups and left alone. You provide food, water and custodial services, that's it.

They make the most pleasant sounds. They sort of mutter to themselves. I find it relaxing and soothing.

Parakeets are good pets. They tame down quickly, are small, quiet and don't live to be over a hundered years old. Get one. Pairs will bond to each other and ignore/attack you.

Cockatiels make good pets too. Same as parakeets, but a little smarter.

Parrotlets and ring neck parakeets are good pets too.

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE

    Read up on their care.

They have specific needs and they can get sick and die if not properly cared for.
well the quiet one out of parakeet and finch can be the finch depending on species probaly easier to maintain....less food and mess ...love birds bite hard!!!!!!!! so do other parrots
They are both fairly quiet birds, but if you want to actually handle them, pairs of finches and parakeets wouldn't be good.

Also, lovebirds are great. They literally are ';Love';Birds, they will stick close to their mate. They are so beautiful.
cockatiels are great too! i wouldn't trade mine for anything. you can interact with them, teach them whistles and sayings.

cockatoos are wonderful too, they're just like babies! however, they require a lot of attention, so if you don't have the time to spend with them, i wouldn't suggest them.

any bird in the parrot family will need attention or something to keep them busy, otherwise they will pull their feathers out, and could ultimately cause their death.

    good luck!

    Relationship/sex advice please? New man!?

I've met this guy a few times and I really like him and he really likes me, but he always goes on about sex and stuff, which I feel I am ready for, but I haven't had sex properly before and I REAAALLY don't want to tell him that I haven't... even though he'll find out when we do. Is there anything I can do to stop him knowing? Like breaking it myself or anything? Sounds so stupid.. hahaRelationship/sex advice please? New man!?
please don't sleep with a guy you don't even know or have a relationship with - ESPECIALLY FOR YOUR FIRST TIME!!!!

many of my friends first times were with guys they didn't know, and each of them regrets their decision and wish theyd waited.

Whereas i was in a loving relationship with the guy i lost it to, and i'm still with him a year and a half later.

To me it really sounds like he just wants to get in your pants -_-

a guy yuou feel ready to have sexual relations with will be a guy you feel you can tell that you are a virgin - which is clearly not this guy.

sorry to be so blunt, but i feel quite strongly about your situation and i am so sure you should wait!!Relationship/sex advice please? New man!?
Are you totally sure this guy likes you, it sounds more like he just wants a quick one and then will leave you after but he may not could be wrong. however, you should tell him you have not had sex properly before, he will understand and then maybe you two can take it slow. just try not to jump in at the deep end and get hurt make sure he does really like you before you go for it so as you don't get hurt.
This whole thing about 'breaking it' is a myth. Most people have completely lost any trace of their hymen long before they actually have sex. If he's that up for it then he wont care whether you've had it before or not.
not stupid at all~ just don't lie~ you are making to much out of this, he will be even happier to be the actual real men in your life, but make sure you want it to~ don't worry~
You haven't had sex properly?? In my day it was a case of you have had sex, or you haven't...simple as! :p

    I'm just playin ya
Just make sure that you want him to be the one as if it`s gone it`s gone. you might regret it for the rest of your life.
oh damn are you sure he really likes you??

it sounds to me that he wants to just get in your pants

I think you just have to find what sort of pain management techniques work best for you. Do some research on different techniques, and what I would suggest is that you practice them on some random pain you may have to get an idea of what's most effective for you.

Like I said earlier, I'm going for the epidural, but I've also learned some meditation techniques that I've used for some non-pregnancy related chronic pain that's been really effective for me (I'll be using that too) - but it took lots of practice to get it work this well, so my biggest advice is practice, practice, practice.

    Good luckAdvice for New Mother?
Be a good source of support and be encouraging. Most women like to have good, steady back message. A warm shower or bath can greatly reduce the pain of labor. Helping the mom to move around and walk/squat will also help to shorten the length of labor. This website has some great advice on birthing naturally.

New fish tank? Advice and tips?

I'd like to get a 10-20 gallon tank, get some guppies, and neon tetras.

When should I get a algae eater or snail?

Any advice/tips on breeding guppies and about snail reproduction(how to prevent snails from reproducing)?

Thanks!New fish tank? Advice and tips?
The algae eater isn't a very good idea. The common algae eater grows up to 20 inches, needing a minimum of 75 gallons. However, a golden apple snail might be just what you are looking for. These small snails are a very bright yellow colour and are striking in your tank. The best part is that they do not reproduce alone, so as long as you don't get more then one, there shouldn't be a problem. Here is what the golden apple snail looks like: http://z.hubpages.com/u/1082365_f520.jpg

As for the guppy breeding, there isn't much to it. Have a male, have a female and boom, 2 seconds later she's pregnant. Well, I might be exaggerating there. Make sure there is at least 2 females per male, so the female doesn't get stressed. Or just go to your fish store and pick out a female is already pregnant! That's the easy way to go.

They are available at almost any fish store. If you can't find them, ask a worker if they have any Golden apple snails in stock. They will know what you ware talking about.

Hope I helped! ;]New fish tank? Advice and tips?
get the snale/algae eater whenever you want..but fyi, algae eaters (you mean corys/loaches right?) will need more food than just algae from the tank walls.. and they like to be in schools (well corys do)

also, you dont really need to have any tips how to breed guppies, just have i trhink its 2 females for every male, and wait and youll eventually have tons lol
Be sure and cycle your tank first.

    http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/in鈥?/a>

I would go for the twenty if you can. bigger is better in the fishy world and this will give you more fish keeping room.

You don't have to do anything for guppies to breed, they will do it theirselves and do it well. Have one male per two-three females or if you don't really want lots of fry to take care of, get all males. Neons need to be in schools of at least 5 or more. Schooling fish are happier when they can school. and pairs do not do it.

You can't stop snails from reproducing, so unless you just like snails, stay away. Algae eaters need an established tank before placing them in it to keep them healthy. There are wafers on the market to help feed them, but its better to wait till you have some algae to be sure.
i wouldn't get a snail. they infest the tank! i went through hell after getting a snail. the tank was crawling with them. but get cycle, stress coat, and salt(yes even fresh water fish benefit from salt just get the right kind. the people at the petstore will help). cycle is a brand name i'm not sure if they still have cycle per say. you need beneficial bacteria. you put it in when starting a tank and when you do water changes. sometimes it's hard to get a tank started. danios are very hardy fish. i would get those to start. i have never had good luck with guppies and neons.

I need help on how to take relationships to a new level, advice please?

Im sure this is going to sound pretty pathetic to alot of you, but I have never fingered or had sex with a girl. I'm going to be a senior, and people say that I am hot or attractive, and though ive had about 13 girlfriends in total, I've never gotten serious with them because they never lasted long enough and something bad happens such as cheating within the first three weeks, having sex with another guy, etc. so I never felt a real connection with any girl before and I feel ashamed of that. any advice?I need help on how to take relationships to a new level, advice please?
    Ok Donovan,

You don't need to be ashamed at all!

You seem like a great guy who hasn't exactly had alot of great relationships, but dont give up! Im sure theres some girl out there for you who you will truely love and can't live without.

And when you decide that your relationship is ready for sex (when i say decide i mean, you AND her) then im sure itll be worth waiting for.

  • Any advice on New Orleans?

I'm volunteering in July for a week rebuilding. What areas should I avoid? What should I expect?

    Thanks.Any advice on New Orleans?
As long as you are with a group, there shouldn't be any problems; besides, I don't think any volunteers work on rebuilding after dark. I assume you have contacts with a group or group that is co-ordinating volunteers for rebuilding. If not, I would recommend contacting Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans. I think they would be your best source of info in this regard. As for what to expect, as far as rebuilding goes, you would be asked what your skills are, or what you would like to do specifically. Again, as long as you are with some other people in the area where you are rebuilding, it won't be a problem. You don't say how old you are or if this will be your first time in New Orleans.

In general, I would not venture into areas being rebuilt after dark, like the Lower 9th Ward.

In the downtown area, have at least one other person with you if you are going around after dark, and stay in well-traveled areas.Any advice on New Orleans?
    bring a pistol
thanks for coming to help! as long as your in a group you should be fine, no one will bother you are try and mug you or anything. use the same common since you use anywhere, and make sur eyou take time out to enjoy yourself
My advice on New Orleans: Try Des Moines, or St. Louis or Seattle or Phoenix. But if you DO go to New Orleans expect to be hasseled by the cops, accosted, robbed, mugged, beat up, pickpocketed and/or killed by the criminals. Stay safe and go help some place where your efforts will not just be blown away by another hurricane in a very short while.
John, our situations are simular and heres the information I wish I had recieved when I arrived here a couple of months ago.New Orleans is full of some of the nicest people you will meet, along with the worst you will ever meet. Its not all bad and it can be very rewarding contributing in the rebuilding effort. Our group has devised a set of rules of thumb when navigating the area.Kenner,Meterie and slidell are safe havens and have a good police force that has regained controll of their citys.Regaurdless of what some people will lead you to belive, new orleans is not safe for the most part. The police force has not yet regained control of the city, and the responce you recieve in an emergency can very greatly. At dusk its a good practice to head north of I-10(610) and end your day in a safer place.Their are people who will bash new orleans at a drop of a hat,and their are those who will tell you that its just like any big city. Both are wrong and I question their motives in doing so.If you need anything while your here, feel free to contact me by email and I will be happy to help in any way I can.
Katrina flooded about 80% of New Orleans with salt water, and the water stayed for almost a month. Much of the city is still struggling to recover and all you have to do to see devastation is drive around. It will take years for NOLA to fully recover from Katrina.

However, the parts of the city that tourists usually visit were not flooded. It's not a coincidence - the French Quarter and other old parts of the city were built on relatively high ground and only suffered wind damage from Katrina. Almost all of the damage has been repaired and you have to look closely in the FQ and city center to see that Katrina happened at all.

You can drink the water, the electricity %26amp; phones work, and services like the post office, hospitals, schools, police/fire/EMS, and stores %26amp; shopping centers are operating.

Municipal services like street cleaning %26amp; trash collection collapsed after Katrina and that is why you may see answers warning about the “smelly” or ';dirty'; French Quarter. Those services were fully restored in late 2006 and it is no longer an issue.

You don't need a car to get around in the French Quarter, Central Business District, or Warehouse District. Also, the parking regulations are Byzantine and there are lots of Parking Control Agents. If you drive or rent a car, leave it in a lot or garage unless you are traveling away from downtown.

The regional transit authority (www.norta.com) sells 1 and 3 day passes that offer unlimited use of buses and streetcars for the day(s) you select. There are also lots of taxicabs.

Regarding crime, use the same common sense you need in every major city in the world and there is little chance you will be a victim of anything except a need to visit the gym: Pay attention to your surroundings. Stay away from anywhere dark %26amp; deserted. Pay attention to your feelings - if anyone or anywhere gives you a bad feeling, leave the area. Don't leave something like a camera-bag or backpack unattended on a park bench while you wander off to take photos. Etc.

New Orleans has mild weather from October to May and the city stays green all year most years (rarely freezes and almost never snows). Summers are hot %26amp; humid, particularly in July and August - the usual advice is to take it easy or stick to indoor activities during the middle of the day at that time of year.

However, you will be doing volunteer work and that could include gutting houses or other hard, hot activity.

Wear light cotton clothing, stay hydrated, use insect repellant %26amp; sunscreen, and report any injuries to your group leader asap.

    Thank you for helping!
I TOTALLY COMMEND YOU ON VOLUNTEERING! Kudos to you - it is such a wonderful gift to give of your time. I wish I had time off and could go myself.

On your downtime, make sure to visit Johnny's Po'Boys, Central Grocer for a Mulfaletta, Cafe du Monde for breakfast beignets. Also the Gumbo Shop is excellent for lunch...as is Yo Mommas off of Bourbon Street.

    Legal advice for New Jersey?

I got pulled over in my car with no insurance, and an expired registration. It is my first offense. The next day I went out and got insurance, and registration. When I went to the initial hearing the person infront of me had the same tickets as I did for the same thing, and she plead guilty, and the judge took her license for a year plus some fines. I don't care about fines, I am concerned with loosing my licence. My wife doesn't have a license, and I am a full time student, not to mention the family bread winner, plus I am a disabled veteran. So when I got up I plead not guilty, now I am waiting for my court date. My question is should I pay out big bucks for an attorney just to have the same thing happen, can I plead my own case to the judge and hope he shows some compassion, is the attorney worth the money, what should I do? Does anyone know what is going to happen to me?Legal advice for New Jersey?
It depends upon the county, the prosecutor and a number of factors, such as your record, if any.

You should consult with a local attorney who can offer you more precise advice.Legal advice for New Jersey?
To be really honest, the fact that your ';wife doesn't have a license, and I am a full time student, not to mention the family bread winner'; are the very reasons why you should have made sure that you were never in this situation to begin with.

Does being a ';disabled veteran'; or any of the above things give you the right to break the law?

If I were you, I would get an attorney. A court appearance like this should not cost you more than $500. They can probably negotiate a better deal for you than that other woman got on her own. She also may have had prior tickets for the same offenses that affected her punishment

ANY ADVICE HELPFUL.... NEW MOMS YOUNG MOMS?

my fiance and I are thinking of having a little one. We are young. I will agree with you on that one. I'm going to have my business administration degree in about a year. Question is I'm wondering how many really think its necessary to own instead of rent?

also, how long untill its no longer good for it to be a one bedroom compared to a two bedroom

any other pre planning baby helpful thanksANY ADVICE HELPFUL.... NEW MOMS YOUNG MOMS?
Owning your home is never a necessity. It comes with all kinds of responsibilities that some people would be better off doing without. If you ever want to move or decide you want more kids than your house can hold - you have to find a buyer for the old house and a new one to live in. If you try for a big enough place to hold your family right away and you run into financial problems - it can be really hard to get out. If the plumbing or roof or anything gets broken, you are responsible for fixing it. And as regulations change, if you don't keep your house up to code - it can be impossible to find affordable home owners insurance.

On the down side, renting means I have to consult someone else if I want to get a pet or make any major changes (such as planting a tree.) It also means that if they decide they are tired of being in the renting biz - they can kick me out and sell my home. (Which is highly unlikely now that I am living in an apartment, but I did loose a lovely home with a big yard that way.)

I would love to own a home some day. But short of inheriting one - I do not plan on doing so until I am older (30s or 40s?), financially secure, and positive that this is the area I want to settle down. For now - I enjoy the convenience of being able to call the landlord when the water heater springs a leak, the drains are stopped up, or the air conditioner just stops working.

For your question about one bedroom compared to two ... That really depends on your family and your finances. My daughter and I shared a 1 bedroom apartment until she was 5 years old. It was crowded (especially when friends stayed over) but we made it work. However, I would recommend other families upgrade to 2 bedrooms as soon as they are sure they can afford it. Even if you do decide to co-sleep that first year or two of your kid's life, the extra space is sure to come in handy.ANY ADVICE HELPFUL.... NEW MOMS YOUNG MOMS?
I would say it is better to own than rent because the money you are paying on rent is paying your landlord's mortgage and he is getting equity in that house and not you...right now is a good time to look into buying because the housing market is so desperate and I think Obama is giving some kind of 1st time home buyer grant (something like that) also, when you look, stay on a budget cause with this economy and a possible baby, if any one of you looses your job, you can still make the payments...you don't want to be struggling financially and have a baby as well :) Well to be honest...no house will ever be big enough! I have a 4bdrm tri-level, country kitchen, family room, living room and 2 bathrooms and it doesn't seem like enough room for us and our 2 kids and miniture chihuhua! The kids have too much crap!
well most people believe owning is better because for around the same amount a month you would be paying for rent you can be putting into something that will be yours in the long run. for example if you pay 500 a month in rent for 10 years you've paid someone else 60,000.00 and have gotten nothing from it. on the other hand if you pay the same on a morgage you can have a permanant home for you and your baby paid off before the kid gets into high school. with the way the economy is now things are going for cheap. so finding a place is easier. on the other hand. if you don't know for sure where you're goign to be in 10 years it's better to rent so that you have the option of moving without having to go through the trouble of selling first.
Well my husband and I upgraded from our lovely 2bd 2ba apartment to a roomy 4bd 2ba house when I got pregnant. We spent 2 years there then my husband was offered a promotion in another state. It was really hard to get rid of the house and that was right before the housing market took a dive (november 07) so I think it is better to rent until you are sure you are putting down roots. Also out of 4 bedrooms we all slept in 1. I put 2 Queen beds side by side and we never had a problem. You can all stay in the same room for as long as you like.
all i can say as a young mom myself, if you plan on having a little one, be sure you have everything figured out first. a baby takes up alot of time. if you have nothing to worry about and you can just focus and raising your baby then go for it! i would settle into a house of some sort first. Enjoy the time you have with your fiance, because having a baby means less time just you and him. I love my son and me and my husband make it work! its a wonderful experience. good luck!
Look into child care to make sure you can afford it. Day care is expensive, and I agree with whoever said you should wait until you're done with school and are married before you get pregnant. This is something that will be important when explaining marriage and children to your own child later on. Everything else has been covered by everyone else.
MY humble opinion -- wait until you're married, and wait until you are done with your degree. Trust me, it won't be easy studying and taking finals with a newborn. And if you get sick during your pregnancy, you'll miss a lot of class.

    Owning vs renting is irrelevant.
If you're engaged to be married, then it makes sense to wait until you are actually married before having a baby.

Just purchased a Foreign Exchange Market Expert Advisor. I am new, need advice.?

So i just bought this EA called ';Ivory Tower'; at itmt4.com. It backtests really well, and has done pretty good in live demo testing. However, I am not sure if I should go for it. I have searched EVERYWHERE and I can't seem to find reviews on the product good or bad. I don't want to tie my money into something that doesn't have a good reputation, but on the other hand it is testing really well. The only reason I bought it is because the offered a money back guarantee for 30 days so I figured why not. Now I am struggling with the idea of actually investing money with this thing. From my understanding the minimum you can put into an account is 2000, obviously for someone not insanely wealthy, this can be a significant amount of money. Does ANYONE have any experience with this product or in the foreign exchange trading. And if so can they tell me their experiences or offer me advice.Just purchased a Foreign Exchange Market Expert Advisor. I am new, need advice.?

  • Any advice on which chip, card and RAM to select on a new PC.?

I am looking for a new computer

to use for general email, web surfing and watching a few TV programs. Are an Intel E7500 chip, 6gb RAM and Radeon 3450 video card good choices?Any advice on which chip, card and RAM to select on a new PC.?
6GB of RAM will be a waste.

XP Pro recognizes up to 3.5GB only

Vista can work quite well with 4GB of RAMAny advice on which chip, card and RAM to select on a new PC.?
the intel and ram are obviously a very very good choice, if money is not an issue. i suppose the video card is pretty decent, and the brand is definitely reliable. if you were going to watch more video (Or Blu-Ray) or play comp games with detailed graphics I might recommend something a little higher. I know some about computer hardware, but only enough to give an honest opinion. I do know that 6GB is a really high amount of RAM; I have 4GB on my XP and it only recognizes 3.2! So I would think that there should be no issues there.

You seem to have a pretty good idea of what you want already, but it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion. Overall, your choices are good choices.
Yes, that is plenty powerful to do gerneral email, web surfing and tv watching, in fact its good for most high end games as well :-)
I think that machine can use to do any thing.

    Any advice, New Yorkers?

I'm about to move from a tiny little city in Ohio to Brooklyn, NY.

I've never been to New York before, and I'm moving there with my boyfriend. We need an apartment that's available for October 1st, preferrably in / around Williamsburg.

We don't have jobs set up yet, but we were going to pay 2 months rent up front so we can find jobs. We have enough money for all of this, we just can't seem to find a place. Any advice, on anything?Any advice, New Yorkers?
the best site to find apartment is new york craigslist.com. The apartments on that area are pricey, remember that you need to pay in advance first month plus deposit ( another month) so if you want to pay two month in advance you need your rent amount x 3. Also if you ate working with a real estate agent you need to pay their fee, that would be another month of rent approx.

    Hope this help!

if there is one thing you can do, its too NOT to try to fit in. id you do, you will only make yourself look like a fool later on. I understand how you feel, being a foster kid, and I have been in a lot of similar situations. the only thing you can do is go in, and be yourself. i know it sounds like repetitive advice but its true. if you try to be something your not, then you will only look worse for it later on. Just go in there, find your self a group, and hang out. And if you cant find one, make one, but over all just be yourself.
It's good you realize it's supposed to be fun, but here's hoping you know there's some work also. To not feel awkward (weird word with 2 w's in it):

    - Observe what to do and what not to do

    - Stay pleasant without being a suck

    - Don't make enemies

    - Crack a joke once in a while

So there's a good chance that my girlfriend's going to be pregnant...what advice do you have for a new father?

This is not official, but we have been 'reckless' several times since she started ovulating....and her period is due next week. I've sort of begun to think of this as a foregone conclusionSo there's a good chance that my girlfriend's going to be pregnant...what advice do you have for a new father?
Firstly if you are having a baby... congratulations!! There isn't really any advice as it depends on many things unique to your relationship!

Be there to support your gf, hold her hair back if she's sick, fetch her breakfast in bed often.

She may become unbearably moody as her hormones spiral, and weepy. Don't lose your temper or walk out in a mood, understand her body is going through enormous changes, and it can be scary.

Discuss ahead of time if you want to be there at the birth, and make sure you know the birthplan inside out, as women are often unable to assert themselves during labour. If she decides to go without pain relief before labour, then changes her mind let her... it is painful!!

Hold her hand during labour if you want, but some women don't like to do this, you won't know which applies till the day.

Make a little diary up, something which documents the whole experience, and keep it up til the child is a couple of years old. Often we forget simple things, but if you have it written down you'll be able to recall it. Memories are priceless!

Just be happy and best of luck xxSo there's a good chance that my girlfriend's going to be pregnant...what advice do you have for a new father?
The big ? is are you ready to be a dad.

if so the best thing for you to do is just to be there for you gf and love her. Don't let yourself stray away from her in any way. When you belly starts to grow you should talk to the baby tell your gf that she is doing a good job and try as hard as you can not to stress her out. She is going to be moody and probably cause arguments sometimes for no reason at all. When this happens you need to just take it and maybe walk away for a lil bit and then tell her you love her. Do as much research as you can on her being pregnant and try as hard as you can to understand what she is going threw. w.e you do dont leave her she is going to need you throughout her pregnancy for the support and love
Do not run out on your child!!!

Always be involved in their life, school, clubs, friends.

Don't the mother in anyway, this will effect the child deeply. Meaning don't cheat, lie, or walk out.

If you dont make it as a couple, be grown ups and split calmly, put the child first, and don't have alot of drama!!!!!!

Nothing worse then a sad child
Make a doctors appointment and get her on vitamins.

Otherwise all you can do is wait until she misses her period.
Always remember, a good father takes good care of the mother. If Mom is unhappy, it's not good for anyone, especially the child.

I'm new in the leasing of a property,I'm seeking advice on how to prepare a leasing agreement, how can i find

find tenants that are responsible and reliable, trustworthy, how can i as a landlord protect my myself from tenants that wont pay rent in the future, where can i get that type of advice,do i need legal assistance on this?I'm new in the leasing of a property,I'm seeking advice on how to prepare a leasing agreement, how can i find
It would be much cheaper to have an attorney draw up the agreement and inform you of your rights and your tenants rights now, than it will be to not use one and have problems down the road! You have to learn how to screen the people and sometimes even that doesn't work! Talk to other people that rent property out and you will hear some horror stories and maybe they can also give you advice!I'm new in the leasing of a property,I'm seeking advice on how to prepare a leasing agreement, how can i find
You can get standard lease agreements from Office Max and Staples in their business forms section. These cover most standard requirements/issues that you should need.

As for your tenants, that's always a question. You can take applications and sit and visit with everyone who's interested in renting from you, then pick the one you're most comfortable with. You're also entitled to verify employment and references. I'd check with at least 3 references, and only allow one to be family. Make the other two prior landlords, co-workers, employers or such. You can also check their credit report to make sure they aren't someone likely to skip out on their obligations. (You might need to have them sign an authorization for this in your state.)

It's illegal to discriminate against someone just because they're a minority, single, have kids, etc. If you disqualify someone for renting from you, it needs to be for a valid reason, like references didn't check out, bad credit risk, etc. Even then, if you're careful and think you have everything covered, you can still end up with a problem tenant.
We really need to know where the property is located. Because there are tenant laws for each state.

If you are in the California area. go to SDAA.com

Try something similar in your state. As far as getting a good tenant. Be sure you run credit checks on each person that will occupy the home that is the age of 18 and over.

Be sure you have them all sign the lease agreement. Be sure you follow all tenant and landlord laws. If you need any more please let me know.

    Best of luck
give me an e-mail and will send you a copy of my lease.. be sure to mention yahoo answers and your name here.

Finding renters is tough, advertising in local newspaper, and at the local university if there is one. I love students the most, as they usually only stay a couple of years and you can get rid of a bad one easy. Families, if they don't pay are a real chore. Best was to judge character is to go on your first impression.
