New Tank advice Plz!?

i have a new tank its a water wonders 1.5 gallon . and i have a male guppie, and a platy, and a alge eater small and he is always behind the filter. The water is foggy and there is foam in the corner by the filter and there are bubbles on the rim. Beforew u say that the tank is small the fish are happy. I used to have two SMALL gold fish in side with those fish, but i gave the goldfishes to my science teacher. is this normal the water is foggy? the bubbles plz help. the ammonia too hight plz help i want to know! i have a good picture u might want to see it so email me at Hamsterboy518@aol.com. it has a tetra whipser 1-3i filter small.New Tank advice Plz!?
I guarantee your fish are not happy....the foggy water is ammonia building up in the tank/your beneficial bacteria starting to colonize, which can kill the fish. Sorry, but your tank is way too small for those fish. Here's a link that explains what cycling a tank is, which is what your tank is doing right now, it's the first article, and there's another article on there about ammonia and nitrite poisoning that are worth reading as well, so you can see what your fish are going through:

http://freshaquarium.about.com/od/startu鈥?/a>

And, my apologies for sounding sh*tty, but people with no or minimal experience shouldn't assume everything's fine and get cr*ppy with others whom they're seeking advice from, when they don't have a clue.....Research before buying anything, and you'll not only save yourself the time and hassle, but money as well.New Tank advice Plz!?
It is probably from being too small of a tank and no your fish are not happy. That is fish abuse. How would you feel if you had to live in your closet all of your life? sure you can fit in there but you wouldn't have a very good life. Get a bigger tank (at least a 10 to 20 gal) so your fish can really be happy.
the water could be foggy because algae eaters are poo machines and in a small aquarium this could cause the ammonia to rise to harmful levels ( do weekly 20% water changes)

  • New relationship advice please!?

    I just started dating this guy about a month and a half ago. He's a lot of fun and really funny. His only downfall is his sarcasim and his best friend in the whole world which is a girl. He constantly gives me **** for everything and when I get upset about it he says ';NEver take anything I say to heart, I'm just trying to make you stronger and learn to stand up for yourself.';

Next I got really bad news at the doctors office and he really didn't seem to care but his best friend had a fight with her boyfriend and ends talking to her for 2 hours, and all I got was 15 minutes. Im never a jealouos person because I have guy friends, but that seems weird to me.

I know its early in the relationship, and I'm probaly freaking for no reason, but some advice never hurts anyone.New relationship advice please!?
If my boyfriend had a best friend that was a girl and talked to her more than me... of course I'll get jealous and point this out to him. You are his girlfriend you should be freaking out!

When I'm in a relationship, I want my bestfriend to be my boyfriend. At the moment, my boyfriend is my best friend and soulmate... I mean, who wouldn't want to be in a relationship with their best friend? They share everything don't they?

The way your boyfriend handles your anger isn't good. Instead of trying to make you a stronger person who can stand up for herself... why not be the guy who will help her stand up by being there for her and not let her get hurt? There are other ways to help you become a stronger person, but if he allows you to get hurt, I don't know what kind of a boyfriend he really is. And why shouldn't you take what he says to heart? You love him, right? That's why you guys are in a relatinship? Hellooooooooo?

PS. Best friend in the whole wide world is a girl? He definitely likes her. I'm sorry...New relationship advice please!?
You're not freaking for no reason. You are his gf. You deserve more time and attention than you're getting. 15 mins for you, two hours for his friend? Not cool. Especially when that friend is a girl. He needs to pay more attention to you. And if hes carrying some kinda torch for the friend of his, you may need to get a ne bf.

I'm buying a new car need advice?

Right I'm buying a red ford fiesta 2002 the new shape has 14 miles on the clock.

How can I find out if the milage is correct?

How much is it worth? it looks really clean and nice but is my first car so not really sure what to do!

Is red really a bad colour for a car?

What should I do before I hand over my hard earned cash?

All input appreciated offcourse :)!!!I'm buying a new car need advice?
have a red car means a slightly higher insruance rate, to see how good the car runs you should take it to a local machanic and ask if they will take a quick over look for you so he can point out the good and bad.I'm buying a new car need advice?
With all the cars that have been in ';flood'; damage, and were

to be scrapped, are somehow making there way back on the

market. ';Do your homework.'; And remember:

';If it's to good to be true, It is.'; %26lt;}:-})
You can get a vehicle history report from CarFax. CarFax will charge for it though (no way around this, sorry).

CarFax gathers up all the lists of ';public records.'; on a car. This includes:

Every time the car was registered from the first time to now (by registered I mean if it changed owners or was moved from one state to another or one county to another and new registration was issued). And the mileage at that time.

If there is a discrepancy in the mileage, for instance it was registered originally in California with 5,000 miles and then re-registered in Arizona later with 3,000 miles.

Any police reports filed where the car was involved, for instance a theft or a car accident.

    Any insurance claim over $1,000. And a listing as ';mild'; or ';severe';

Lemon Law returns (for instance if a car was given back to a dealership because it had the same, un-fixable, problem 3 times or more)

Some shops and dealerships will report when a car was brought in for service and what was done to it (but this is rare).

Title changes. For instance the first time it was purchased and the mileage, then when it was re-sold or traded in and a new title issued - and the mileage.

The report is worth the money.

If you're buying it from a dealership they should give you a CarFax report. If they won't then don't buy the vehicle. You should always know what you're paying for!

As for red, any bright color is a risk. The reason? They stand out more and therefore cops see them easier! It's not a bad color. Just mind your driving and don't go racing down the road and you'll probably be fine.

    Good luck to you!
An 02 with only 14 miles on the odometer? Or is it 14K miles? The 14K is a possibility, but the 14 would be hard to believe. Good luck, and have a mechanic check it out to be sure.
Get the RAC /AA to do a check

Also check all the MOT and service book as these will reveal the true mileage.

If the seller has No MOT and service book then stay away.
you really can't fully check millage unless you can see all mots, but remember the first three years are mot free, i would seriously walk away from it or get it well checked out by the AA but then by the sound of it , because it will cost you for this check, again, walk away from it no way has it got this millage
Check out carfax.com This website is suppose to be able to give you the low down on any car. Make sure you write down the VIN# located on the dash board, on the drivers side of the car.

    That's all you need...that VIN#!

Hey, how much are you looking to spend? I have a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta and others....email me at if interested!

    Good luck and God Bless
unless someone bought it as a collector FIESTA??? there is no way a 5yo car has 14 miles sounds like the speedo has been repaired the owner should have told you why it is so low makes me wonder what else they forget to tell you!!!! As for red it is the no1 color of car the police give tickets to so you tell me red draws the eye get the veh VIN in the window on the dash and run it below it will give you list of things that they have on it without paying for the whole report or you can ask the owner for the report if they dont want to give it to you walk away If it smells funny you wont be laughing later good luck
Well... #1 any cars better than a fiesta 2 its a 2002 soo im guessing the mileage is messed with. reds not a bad color but if you want less tickets get something dark
Its a red one its fast

I'm new to weight lifting and need some advice?

I'm sitting at home recovering from surgery and have decided to lose some weight. I bought a 40lb. dumbbell set that I thought would be good since I'm a beginner. I don't know much about lifting though, like what works what muscles and how much to do etc. I've got that wonderful underarm flab to get rid of, and I just need to tone up overall. Once I can begin walking again I plan on working on my overall weight loss but thought while I'm home stuck on the couch I could at least START something. I don't have money for a personal trainer, OR a gym so any ';at home'; workout ideas are greatly appreciated. Currently I've been doing crunches and have an 8lb. barbell plate that I've been using for weight. Like I said, I just bought this new set today so ..... HELP ME PLEASE!! Thanks!I'm new to weight lifting and need some advice?
Okay..I suggest losing the weight that you're using with your crunches..that will give you bulging stomach muscles.

For each exercise do 8 repetitions of the motion. This is called a set. Do 3 sets.

    Standing Dumbbell Curls

This exercise is similar to the barbell curl. It works the biceps and forearms.

Grab a pair of dumbbells. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Let the dumbbells hang at arms length on each side of your body. Keep your elbows close to your torso at all times.

Moving only your forearms, use your bicep strength to curl the dumbbells up to shoulder level. Rotate your hands so that your palms are facing upwards at the top. Hold this position for a second to maximize the peak contraction in the biceps. Slowly lower the dumbbells to the starting position. Repeat.

    Tricep Dumbbell Extensions

This exercise works the triceps, particularly the long inner head of the triceps.

Grab a dumbbell with one hand. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Lift the dumbbell so that it is at arms length straight above you shoulder. Keep a slight bend in your knees to take pressure off the lower back.

Lower the dumbbell in an arc motion behind your head until your elbow is at a 90-degree angle. Lift the dumbbell in an arc motion back to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of reps. Do the same for the other arm.

Tip - You can do this exercise with both arms at the same time by using a barbell, two dumbbells, or holding 1 dumbbell with two hands.

I hope this helps!I'm new to weight lifting and need some advice?
Some great resources for working out at home can be found in magazines like Self, Muscle %26amp; Fitness Hers, and Oxygen.

Of course you will want to clear any exercise with your doctor as you have just completed surgery.

I have tan dark medium skin( from tanning), my natural hair color is medium brown, no dye and blue eyes. I'm not sure what hair color would fit me, my husband wants me to leave my hair darker, but you know how girls are they get bored easily. Help me please. Thank Yall!I'm so bored with my hair color? Blonde highlightsI'm so bored with my hair color? I need advice, I cant make up my mind and want something new!?
    i get this a lot.

dont do anything to your hair. u have great hair no matter what. all u need to worry about is styling the hair.

changing the color will mess up your hair. take my advice and just put hair clips, curl it, straighten it, get a trim, or style it. you'll have fun doing that too and your husband will love it!
Keep yourself in your unique dna mode. Save the planet. Don't pollute nature and the water streams with those hair dye chemicals and leftover products siting and stinkin up the landfill, taking probably a lifetime to decompose.

Get corn rows put in, wavey hair after you take them out.

Get some other type of braid put in.

Put your hair up in a bun.

    Buy a blonde wig.
Make an appointment with a color specialist for a consultation. A good colorist should be able to look at your complexion and give you several suggestions that would look good. Good colorists are expensive. In a good salon, 2-color highlights cost at least 100 dollars.
blond hair with little pink highlights or blond hair with little black highlights
Hey---I have had great luck with Egyptian Plum. It really sparks up my natural hair color. it is probably a little more dramatic on me since I am graying at the temples (comes in more purple that way). I think it is made by Clairol. Nice and Easy---shampoo in style. Not too damaging to hair compared to Loreal. I like the new Garnier colors too---they are brighter, less damaging than Clairol. Try Deepest Burgundy (gives wine colored highlights to dark brown hair.)
rich caramel streaks but NOT chunky.
try one of those temporary dye that way u can try different hair colors without the commitment
dye it chocolate brown it'll makee it smoother and its supposedely in alot of stars have done it.
Blond Or Black High Lights Will Look Good :)
I think black would fit to you because its the common hair color of the Filipinos who are usually tan in color...And you could stick to your natural hair color because natural beauty is the essence of being beautiful.
    http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art7鈥?/a>
black w/ red or blond highlights

    or just blond
Well, maybe try a darker redish brown? It is great for fall, and the tones very.
BLONDE! would look hot on ya
the more you dye your hair the more ur hair will get grey faster
Try putting in some highlights, a nice copper colour would be good.
Maybe make your hair blonde with a few darkish tints and leave the underside of your hair brown. The contrast will look great, especially when you flick your hair.

First of all its not advisable to have your official website on a free server, people will think you are not legitimate. Also freewebs.com will not let you optimize your website to get more web traffic, so it's advisable to get your own domain name and web hosting.

Domains and web hosting are very cheap nowadays and they are worth the effort. If you need some web design or search engine optimization help feel free to email me.

I need some advice on how to use floppy disks on my new computer.?

My old comp had a floppy drive whereas my new laptop doesnt have one. I want to buy an external floppy drive to retrieve some pictures from floppys. Last time when I was doing that on my old comp many of the files prompted it had virus. Firstly how on earth did I get virus on my floppys I dont know, did this happen I stored them away for long? Now I want to know if its safe to run those floppys on my laptop? I have Norton anti virus protection and running windows XP. Is there a way I can remove virus before opening pictures? Please advise me if I should take the risk.I need some advice on how to use floppy disks on my new computer.?
Okay, first get one of those external floppy drives, I don't know how much Walmart is charging (gah... Walmart, I hate Walmart), anyway you can get them from Newegg for as little as $20, http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis鈥?/a> now once you have the drive plugged in, don't transfer anything yet, scan the files on the drive with Norton (right click on the drive and you may have the option ';scan files with Norton';, I have this option with AVG. Once it either confirms the existence of a virus it may be able to remove it, there is always the possibility that it cannot clean the virus from the drive. If it can, or there is no virus then go ahead and bring the files over. Might I also suggest that you pick up a 2GB flash drive (as long as you're at Newegg) for $38 after rebates, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as鈥?/a> and replace all those floppies and such.

Don't worry, Norton (as much as I dislike Norton) won't let a virus get on your system from a floppy (or any other kinds of media).I need some advice on how to use floppy disks on my new computer.?
    Cool, glad to help.

you can get them from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/product/productlis鈥?/a>
Try to make use of the floppy drive on old pc, external floppy drive is more expensive and less efficient than cd/dvd burner.

Buy a crossover cable(%26lt;5 bucks) and link the 2 machine to share the floppy drive, harddrive, cd drive etc, then do whatever move/copy between the 2 machines.

How to set up a network using crossover cable, here's the link...

    http://www.makeitsimple.com/how-to/simpl鈥?/a>

    http://www.epinions.com/cmd-review-41D6-鈥?/a>
You won't find any floppy drives (for the 5.25'; discs or the driver for the 3.5'; discs).

You need to get one of those ';thumb drives'; or ';memory sticks';.

    Good luck.
Just buy an external Floppy Drive. Put the floppy in. Go to My computer. Right click on the floppy drive. and click scan for viruses. If there are viruses tell the computer to delete them. If it can't send me the discs and I'll do it myself.
if you made the pics then there's nothing to worry about because you wouldn't give yourself a virus. But if they re not made by you then scan them with norton.

T3 anyone, opinions advice what do you think ?is it a good idea for new comer to market?

    Advice on a new pushchair/buggy?

I have a 20 month old and another due anytime now.I'm after a double buggy and a bit bemused by all the choices.Which is best - side by side or tandem?Advice on a new pushchair/buggy?
I personally went for a tandem.

I went for this because I asked two friends in town one day, one had a tandem and the other had a side by side which one they preferred and they said that the tandem can go into shops etc but the side by side often has to stay outside and they find it hard when they want to go clothes shopping and can't get the advice they need as one has to stay outside.

I also found that I could get on the bus without taking the kids out of the pushchair when my friend had to take hers out because the pushchair wouldn't fit on the bus.

Definitely the tandem - loved mine.Advice on a new pushchair/buggy?
I had my two 20 months apart. I borrowed a double buggy and gave it back very promptly, I hated it. It was so hard to push, particularly round shops. I got a buggy board and a strap from Mothercare that went round the toddlers wrist and tied to my wrist. It was much better and easier, It also lasted a long time (just stopped the wrist strap after a while).

If I was choosing a double buggy out of necessity then I would go for a side by side three wheeler type as these are fantastic to push (a toddler and a baby are pretty heavy as the baby grows). Not necessarily practical if your car is small but they are so much easier to manoever than an umbrella folder, you can even move them with one hand (make sure the front wheel swivels).

    Good luck with your decision.
With a 20 month age gap, I personally wouldn't get a double buggy of any description, I'd use a baby sling for the youngest for th first few months and then get a buggy board.

However, in answer to your question. I've always found side by side a better choice myself. You can still get it round the shops (well most of them), it's easier to get on a bus.

I've found tandem very heavy to push and, as I'm short, difficult to see over the top of. Also takes a bit of judgement when going round corners! Although they are brilliant if you have 2 children who tend to fight a lot.

To be honest it really depends on what fits your lifestyle better...do you use public transport, how far your older one can actually walk, and so on...
I would agree with the answerer before me about the tandem. Another good thing about tandem is that the older one can't reach the little one. I know toddlers like to pull on and touch babies so it'll probably be safer. And once they're a bit older, if you still use the tandem, they can't fight, lol!

  • New relationship advice?

I just started seeing this woman a couple of weeks ago and everthing is going good. She and I have gone out a few times and it seems that whenever something has to be paid for, I end up paying. I don't mind paying, but we both have jobs and I think that she should pay a little too. She also told me that she doesn't want to be girlfriend/boyfriend serious yet, but sometimes she acts like we are. What should I do about the paying problem?New relationship advice?
times have definitely changed, and I personally think it is rude of her to assume you're paying for everything. But, she is just old fashioned. The key is to talk to her - it will be a bit awkward, but maybe she assumes you want to pay for it?New relationship advice?
its the 21st century she should know to offer to pay. its kinda tough without being rude...i would try going to a movie with her and have her get the tickets before you get there, cause you are running late or something!! try tricking her, maybe she'll get the message. ...or tell her you're over your spending limit for the week, and you want to stay in for the night, maybe she'll offer to pay then.

    New PC advice?

    Hi,

I want to buy a new base unit and want to know the best one to buy.

I want large storage and a fast processor with lots of RAM so that the kids can play games etc. Can anyone recommend one? It's for home use but I want it to be very fast and also used as the master for wireless networking.

    Thanks in advance!

PS... costs roughly? Cheers :)New PC advice?
Well for a new PC you want at least these specs (I will find a Gateway with these specs and give you a link):

Vista (so you can get tech support)

at least 2 GB or RAM

    120-500 GB HDD

    1.6 - 3.0 GHz processor

    DVD/CD drive/burner

That is some basic stuff for basic computing, here is a computer that will meet basic needs:

    http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/5鈥?/a>

for $200 more you can get this one

    http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/5鈥?/a>New PC advice?
This computer is up for the job and is equipped with everything you want from your PC...

    Go with a dell

    http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/c鈥?/a>

Has upgraded graphics and sound card for gaming..

Do not buy a pc with less than 2 gigabytes of ram or less than a dualcore processor.
Do you have an estimated price budget?

If it's going to only be used for basic use and networking, you may want to get a Dell. They're pretty simple %26amp; affordable.

Go online (Dell.com) and setup the PC you want, you can add as much RAM and storage as it's compatible with.

Another thing, you said that you want it to be fast....are you going to be using it for gaming? If this is the case, expect to spend more on a graphics card.

    Good Luck

    New vegetarian, advice?

I read the book Skinny B*tch and it made a huge impact on me. I'm been doing more research into this whole vegan thing, and have decided that my diet was in need of a major overhaul. I'm 21 and have a 2 year old, and she had cavities which I'm sure are from too much sugar.

Anyways, I've decided that red meat is the first to go since I've never been a big fan of it anyways. Unfortunately, I LOVE chicken and it's going to take me a while to find a good replacement. I did make some tofu nuggets the other night, which, dipped in Wendy's ranch sauce, tasted almost like the real thing =)

This new diet is only a few weeks old, but so far it's included lots of fruits and veggies, which in itself is already an improvement. I'm having a hard time with food preparation and trying to find ways to replace the junk I used to eat. I've found a few good recipes already, but I don't have a whole lot of money to spend on veggie burgers and soy cheese and natural sweetners (I am slightly lactose intolerant, I'd like to cut out dairy altogether anyways. I love my soy milk and soy icrecream!)

I also sort of believe in the blood type diet, it has done absolute wonders for my mom. Will I be able to be a vegetarian AND follow the blood type diet? That means I can't have tomatos, bananas, oranges, cashews.. to name a few (it already tells me to cut out red meat and dairy anyways). I know some people think that the blood-type diet is a load of crap, but I've seen how many people its helped and wouldn't mind giving it a try.

Does cutting out red meat classify me as a vegetarian or do I have to have chicken and turkey cut out first? Vegetarians still eat fish don't they? I'd like to eventually work on becoming vegan, meaning no animal products period, but that'll take some time to work up to.

I guess I'm just looking for some good meal and snack ideas. Any advice is apprectiated! Thank you!New vegetarian, advice?
Sounds like you're doing great, the hardest part is having the mindset and willpower to attempt it. No, today if you eat any animal flesh at all, you are not considered a vegetarian, but it is a step in the right direction. People who only eat fish are called pescatarians I believe.

I haven't heard of the blood type diet, but I'm sure it can be done simultaneously. Depending on what is restricted, you may need to take supplements to meet your nutritional needs.

Here is a sample 2 week vegan menu to get you started. Most of the dishes are cheap and call for ingredients you probably already have on hand. http://www.vegcooking.com/veganMenus-1.asp

My favorite chicken substitutes are okara ';courage'; burgers (https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1%26amp;storeId=10052%26amp;productId=371752%26amp;catalogId=1%26amp;krypto=QJrbAudPd0vzXUGByeatog%3D%3D%26amp;ddkey=http:ProductDisplay), and seitan (http://vegweb.com/index.php?board=329.0), both of which have very meaty textures. Both can be made from scratch, or bought pre made. There are also breaded chicken substitutes, but I don't eat too many of them to recommend any.New vegetarian, advice?
Cutting out red meat is a step to being vegetarian, however, it is not vegetarian. And vegetarians do not eat fish, those are pescetarians. It all depends on you for what you want to cut out though, most start with red meats and pork, then go to the poultry and fish and things of that sort out of their diet. You may be able to work on the blood-type diet as a vegetarian, however, depending on what it is, it can have you miss out on some of your daily vitamins and nutrients and you have to be specifically careful with what you do.

If you want mock versions of the food that you eat, you can try Boca, Smartlife, Lightlife, or Morningstar. But if you want those little dinners you can try Amy's, Linda McCartney's,Amy %26amp; Brian, Annie Chun and a few others. If you want to make things for yourself for a snack you can try hummus, pita, guacamole, chips, salads, veggie dips, sandwiches(with or without fake meats), nuts, fruits, and vegetables.

For meals, you can have pretty much anything stated above. You can make curries, chili, spaghetti, lasagna, tacos, burgers, whatever you like. You can have mock meat in them, tofu, beans, or something of that sort if you like.

For Dessert(some contain gelatin or animal fat which is why i put this list up)-

    All natural popsicles

    Natural Valley bars

    Tofutti

    Rice Dream Ice Cream
A vegetarian traditionally is someone who eats dairy and eggs, but do not eat (or wear) other animal products. The definition of vegetarian isn't so narrow anymore though-- there are people who consider themselves vegetarian, but who eat certain types of meat, such as chicken or fish, eat meat occasionally, eat no meat but wear leather or wool, or who are closer to vegan, eating little dairy or eggs.

What's most important, in my opinion, is that you feel good about your diet, and respect animals and the environment as best as you can. Live by your definition of vegetarian :)

As for meal and snack ideas... hummus is rich in protein, vegan and very versatile, as it can be eaten on bread, with chips or pita, in sandwiches or as a dip. Peanut butter is also great (and cheap). Beans too.
Wow. We stand in the same position minus the kid. I'm 13 and became a veggie in June. But instead of chicken, I love subway.

Just don't get meat. We were on a mission trip before, and I got the sub and let someone else eat the meat. I also never really liked red meat. Ham, popcorn chicken, big macs, and hotdogs were about all the meat I ever ate. Balogna, sirloin, chicken hearts... ew.

I recommend just getting protein supplements (unless u like tofu; i don't really wanna try it. So I've basically had no protein since a PB sandwich I had like July 14. I'm totally healthy, though. IDK how.)

A good veggie burger (with additional protein supplements) is a bun with cheese, mayonnaise, and potato chips. Yummy!

New vegetarian advice, do you have anything to add?

I am 23, and have been a vegetarian since 21. I was ridiculed by my friends and family cause I would ALWAYS be the first one in line at the pig roast. I LOVED meat and would always be the first one to defend myself if a vegetarian criticized me. My girlfriend(who is not overweight at all) was the only one who stuck by me.

Long story short, I was 20 years old, 337 lbs, and had a heart attack while carrying groceries up to my 3rd floor apartment.

This happened around May. After multiple cardiologist visits and a laundry list of medication and diet suggestions I was sent home to contemplate how I should change my life.

I tried to cut out red meat but couldn't. I tried to substitute chicken and healthier meats but it just kept me wanting something else. So, I made a goal to try a vegetarian lifestyle once I hit 21. My girlfriend didn't want me to drink so she offered to treat me to a seafood restaurant that I have been dying to go to for years. So I ended my meat eating diet with a great seafood dinner.

I have not ate meat since, and I will go on record and say I should have done it sooner. I am 23, almost 24. In 2 and a half years, I have lost about 100 lbs. I am now 230ish, but a very fit 230. Having to carry all that weight for years made my body stronger than it had to be to support it.

I have monumental stamina, the strength of a bull, and I am happier than ever. I no longer have depression or focus issues, and I cannot remember the last time I have been really sick. Sure, I had a cold once in a while but I got over it before it really even started. Losing that weight is such an indescribable feeling.

When asked how I did it, I tell them about my choice to go vegetarian combined with an exercise program.

Here is what I tell certian people who are interested in a vegetarian lifestyle or are already:

-It's not about the animals, it's about you.

-Don't jump down peoples throats because they eat meat. Let them see for themselves. This is a sure way to lose respect.

-Don't do it to lose weight, do it to be healthy

-Understand that you don't HAVE to be vegetarian to be healthy. A healthy diet CAN include beef, chicken, pork, etc

-Don't think that you have a moral high ground because you don't eat meat. I am sure we all do things that pollute, contribute to global warming, contribute to animal suffering, or harm something indirectly.

-It is impossible to stay away from animal products. Somewhere down the line an animal or animal byproduct was used in the harvesting, preparing, consumption, ingredient, etc. So if you have some jello that contains gelatin, don't freak and hate yourself.

-Don't associate yourself or buy into PETA propaganda

-Don't use phrases like ';go gorge on your dead animal flesh'; or any sort of derivative.

-Don't do it to be the center of attention.

-Promote your lifestyle when asked. If you really want to start a conversation, drop subtle hints to make them ask.

-Keep in mind that 99% of people who eat meat go out and buy it prepackaged in a nice plastic wrap that bares no resemblance to the animal that had to be killed. They do not consciously realize they are eating an animal. I am sure if we were all forced to go kill our own cows, pigs, and chickens we would have a LOT more fruit and vegetable farmers. So don't call somebody an animal murderer.

-If your situation includes ';I love animals and I want to go vegetarian how do I convince my mom?'; Unfortunately, even though you have a great cause, you will not be taken seriously. If you are still living with parents and do not control what food is bought, you may have to deal with it until you move out or start buying your own food. Instead of asking parents to not buy you meat products, ask them to buy more vegetables and fruits in addition to their regular stock. Over time, eat less and less of what is on your plate and they may take you with more seriousness. I know it may be hard to eat it for a while, but you have to understand that however righteous your cause is, it is not how the world works.

-Fish, Poultry, and Crustaceans are meat. Don't call yourself a vegetarian and eat salmon, chicken, or shrimp. If you don't eat beef but eat chicken or seafood, you are not a vegetarian. You just don't eat beef.

-You will get cravings, especially when somebody is grilling. It is hard, very hard. But if you struggle through for the first few months, that smell will become foreign and unappealing.

-Last one I have is that just because you are a vegetarian doesn't necessarily mean you are healthier than somebody who eats meat. Overweight and unhealthy vegetarians do exist.

    -If you have meat-eater friends come over for dinner, consider making them something neutral. Pasta is a good example. Don't make a ';stuffed pepper with whole grain rice, fresh herbs, a sprinkle of roasted garlic with a side of spinach with extra virgin olive oil dressing';

-A vitaminNew vegetarian advice, do you have anything to add?
good job you are a good example of how veggieness can help people turn there life around

    make shure you stay motivated

my motivation is animal well fair

make shure you are keeping a balanced diet

and also watch your protein intake

good jobNew vegetarian advice, do you have anything to add?
Make sure you get enough protein and vitamins. It may be a good idea to take a multivitamin daily.
What a great story! The way you have improved yourself is wonderful, and vegetarianism is an excellent way to do that. :)

    I second the PETA thing.

You can probably improve yourself even more by giving veganism a try. Check out the books by Dr. McDougall or Kathy Freston.

As far as cooking for friends, I recommend making a favorite dish of theirs, but veganizing it, and not telling them what was in it until AFTER it's been eaten and complimented! Food is a great way to show people that being a vegetarian isn't so bad. I'm vegan, and I brought a soy key lime ';cheesecake';. I didn't say it was vegan, I just put it out, and people completely ate it up!

Read a good nutrition book, so you know how to properly feed yourself, get all your nutrients, and stay healthy.

If you are a teenager living at home, it IS possible to convince your parents to go veg. I did! I was 11 when I became a vegetarian. What you have to do is read as many books and websites you can find about nutrition and cooking as a vegetarian, and know your facts. If you can properly support all of your reasons and arguments, most sensible parents can't deny you your choice. Offer to help cook. Parents are reluctant to accept teen vegetarians because they think it's a phase that you'll grow out of, and that you're not serious. Proove to them that this isn't true, and you've got it!

Smile, be friendly, %26amp; try not to act too snobby %26gt; your classmates might not be able to relate to private schools.

Find those who are open to being friends %26gt; both boys %26amp; girls. Not everyone is going to like you %26gt; life doesn't work that way. Just concentrate on doing well in school %26amp; remember %26gt; you never look better when you're smiling--not a lot teeth showing, but a definite smile %26amp; twinkle in the eyes would make you appear approachable.

  • New Puppy Advice?!?

I am buying a wooden pen for my Daushund puppy. I dont want to put him in a cage... I want to use it for when nobody is home so he doesn't make a mess.I won't be using it at night for sleeping or anything.

So i figured I would put his favorite bed and toy and water in it...but I don't know if I should put a newspaper with the scent spray down on one side for him to use to go potty.... or should I just let him hold it? ... I am using the pad technique to housebreak him . So i want to do what is best for the success of his housebreaking and for when he is housebroken and I still use the pen.New Puppy Advice?!?
You will be ';crate training'; him. You do not have to put down paper or housebreaking pads in his crate unless you are going to be gone for long periods of time. Remember that if you leave his water, inside the crate with him, he will drink it and then he will have to urinate. Puppies tend to urinate about every 2 hours, so if you are going to be gone longer than 2 hours then you need to put down one housebreaking pad or some paper. I like the housebreaking pads because most puppies will not tear them or chew them up. Many puppies love to rip up the paper.

Also, small puppies have small bladders and it is harder for them to hold it in, so it would be unwise to leave the puppy in his crate with nowhere for him to do his thing!New Puppy Advice?!?
You never want to leave a new puppy in a cage without some kind of paper down for him to potty on. I have a 2 year old doxie and I leaned that the hard way. She used to potty on her bed, even though everyone says dachshunds never pee where they sleep! And really, I suppose it would all just depend on how long the puppy will be alone. Puppies have a very small bladder and cannot hold it very long at all. I had to take my doxie out almost every fourty five minutes and she peed every time. Then can't be expected to hold it and they won't.
Your puppy won't be able to hold it for very long, so you should put a pad down for him. When he gets close to a year, you can probably leave him all day without the pads. Good luck.
My puppy actually had a cage which he loved. When we were there we would leave the door open and he'd just wander into and play. Put down the paper. My dog was more ore less fully trained within the week except for the occasional accident. Overnight he will make a mess regardless of what you try but during the day it should be fine. When you are there you need to watch him and as soon as he shows any signs of wanting to go to the toilet carry him outside and set him down somewhere away from the entrance. Praise him when he does it outside and if he has an accident a simple bad dog will suffice. He'll learn it in no time.

    New job advice please??

Please could someone give me some advice about my new job Im starting tomorrow!! Getting really nervous, I know I wont be able to sleep tonight.. I have had new jobs before, but they have all been small workplaces. This is a really huge company. From when I went to the interview, people seemed to be wearing black pants and a blouse, but I only have two! I cant find any nice ones, I looked all weekend. I have moved to the area a few months ago, so not sure what I would do about dinner. I hate new things and get really panicky if I feel im going to be left to my own devices on my first day! The job I am doing is purchase ledger, and i have had a bit of experience, but not alot, they know this, but I hope they dont throw me in at the deep end, which is what my last job did (I had no experience whatsoever!!)I keep thinking to myself ';whats the worst that could happen';? I want to make a good impression, and not look like an idiot! lolNew job advice please??
    hi,

Im not a careers advisor or anything but know where your coming from, its hard starting something new especially when there's that added possiblity of failure, for instant i applied and got into uni three years ago and have delayed starting out of complete and utter fear of messing up so now i'm traveling, first australia and now italy seeing if i can grow a little confidence. So from two years of traveling meeting a whole range of people and seeing what life has to offer i can honestly tell you dont panic and dont let fear of not being able to do the job grow as its a sure fire way to fail,

as for clothes come on you dont have to by a whole new wabrobe to impress anybody, its better to be comfortable in what you already have when you first start a new job anyway, of course get the essentials you think you might need but dont go over board as remember you got a whole month till your next pay check, lol

as for dinner first thing to do is start a conversation with another staff member about wheres good to eat in the area, they can either straight out tell you where to go or even if you make a good impression invite you along with them.

if you are left alone to your own devices on your first day dont panic everyone there will know your new and will probably answer any questions you have or show how the company likes things done, just remember to ask if you need help. asking for help doesn't make you look stupid, it shows that you have the drive to succed and to do things properly.

as for the company being much bigger then your used to, i have to say a company is just a company, i worked for a major retail company in the uk and got three promotions in three years so im telling you that with a larger company theres a bigger chance of promotion, plus with a larger staff theres less chance you'll be over worked, of course a bigger company lacks the personal touch but hopefully you'll meet some other like minded people and have a nice circle of work friends.

most importantly the hardest part was getting the job, and you got it so theres no need to panic, experience grows with practice so just do what you have to do.

    peace out

Agony Aunt LMAONew job advice please??
well young lady , you just need to be yourself , clothes I understand are important to you but you have at least one set for tomorrow , new job new start , all the history of past jobs are gone , you can find out what the dress code is and adapt you work wardrobe to suit, no need to worry , I am sure that they will not through you in at the deep end and if they do ,see your supervisor and say sorry but you need some support while you settle in, have a great day tomorrow I am sure you will get home tomorrow night a say what was all the fuss about.
Try to bear in mind that your new employer must have a degree of faith in you or they wouldn't have appointed you!

They aren't going to throw you in at the deep end, why would they? It's not in their interests to do so. Remember, contemplation of any perceived problem is always worse than the reality. You always look back and think 'Well that wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be'. Trust me, and good luck.
Just be yourself. Everyone is nervous during there first day. Be friendly and talk to your new co workers because your going to spend most of your time with them but not to much though. Good luck on your first day!
Just be yourself and relax you will be fine :) good luck in your new job in a month or so time you will wont know what all the fuss was about :)
The fact that you worry so much about these things tells me that you are going to be just FINE! Obviously, you are a passionate woman personally and professionally so, with that being said, remember what attracts people to you in the first place.. CONFIDENCE in yourself. Start your new job tomorrow telling yourself that they are lucky to have YOU because you obviously take this job very seriously and THAT in itself is why I know they chose they right person for the job! GO GET EM GIRLFRIEND!

P.s Take a hot bubble bath tonight about 2 hours before bed! It will relax you! (DO NOT DRINK AND DO NOT TAKE A SLEEPING PILL-YOU WILL BE GROGGY) Make sure you eat a good breakfast in the morning with plenty of protien. Protien wakes up the brain!! EGGS- EGGS- EGGS are the best protien for the brain!!!
It's always scary starting a new job - I expect your new boss will totally appreciate that and look after you in your first few days. Especially as you are working for a larger company - they will probably have a structure for new people. At lunch time, perhaps ask someone to point you in the right direction to get something to eat. With regards to clothes, well, you will soon see what people wear in the office when you get there and that will help you guage your own outfits. If you only have two blouses now, don't worry - you can add to your collection in the future. In the meantime, just add some accessories to change your outfit like a pretty scarf, necklace, bracelets etc to make your look different. Good luck!

    New bedroom advice!!!!!?

basicly the house i live in with my family is getting extended and after that is done i will have my own room instead of sharing a room with my sister. Im 15 and i am a bit of a colourful person so i have a few ideas of what i would like but not sure how they will look....

    1. The walls painted white with really random paintbrush splashes over the white, white wooden furniture, and my fave colour (fushia pink) duvet cover and pillow cover.

    2. The walls painted blue, orange, purple and green, white furniture and just a plain white bed and pillow cover.

    3. The walls white but the main wall painted a neon colour, but the white walls will have framed photo collages and just random wall decorations, white furniture and the duvet and pillow cover to different neon colour.

I do have more ideas but these were the ones i couldnt decide between...... so please can you say which one you like the best or give me an idea that you think will look good.

Btw the furniture has to be white.

    thanks.New bedroom advice!!!!!?
    1. The random paint splashes sounds cute, but it will look too busy if you do it on all the walls. If you go for just one accent wall with paint splashes it will look much better. I love the idea of white and fuschia!

    2. I just don't like this one. All 4 walls in different colors is too much for me. My little sister had a room like this as a kid and it looked like a disaster.

    3. This one is my favorite idea! I like everything about this idea!

Here are some great neon-inspired room pictures I found that could give you some ideas.

    New Friends? Advice needed.?

This might make me sound shallow, but here goes:

I have friends who I go out most weekends with but feel I have little in common with them - it seems they just want to get really drunk and act stupid all the time - so I decided to try and meet new friends who have similar interests. I go the gym, do sports and kickboxing where I have been trying to talk to and make new friends but most of the time when I try to start a conversation with people it doesn't really go anywhere. I suppose what I'm asking is - is there a way to turn small talk into potential friendships? Surely other people have been in my situation before.

    Serious answers only please.

    ThanksNew Friends? Advice needed.?
Try to spend more time with your new potential friends. Like when you're walking away from the gym, perhaps you're both going the same way. Then you can ask him if he wants go get something to eat. And then spend more and more time with them, then perhaps you'll become friends after awhile.New Friends? Advice needed.?
You'll find in life that friends come and go - and you are clearly an intelligent young man to be moving on from friends who just want to waste their life away getting drunk on the weekends. A really good way to make new friends, is to get a part-time job somewhere that hires people in your same age bracket. Movie theater, restaurants, etc. I've made some good friendships doing that. Like I said though - friends come and go and you just have to move with the flow of life.

    Advice on a new phone?

I am thinking about getting a phone on the 3 network but keep hearing bad things about it, mainly that you don't get great reception. Also, does anyone know of the LG U300 phone and whether or not it is any good?Advice on a new phone?
LG phones are generally quite good. you can check your service coverage on the 3 website or if they dont do that call up thier customer services team and ask to check for ya.

Initially as 3 were just starting up the coverage was terrible but they are continually expanding thier network. The thing is they use other people masts so say that you live near an O2 mast and a vodafone one (just an example) the phone may constantly jump between these masts and run down your battery. Another downpoint is that they have thier call centre in India and you can often be passed from person to person before you get any real resolve. Generally thier customer service is kind of lacking.

The plus side is the call packages are fairly cheap and they probably have the best browser and 3g service.

I always reccomend that anyone purchasing a phone take out insurance.

Hope this helpsAdvice on a new phone?
3 aren't that much of a good network cos I used to be on it, and there level of coverage didn't exceed that much.

Now am with O2 and they are brilliant and I will never change from o2
    complete mobiles talk just in

    http://www.mobilemore.blogspot.com
Well, My own personal experience with the 3 network is that they have been quite good, but I have heard lots of complaints about the signal reception - my best bet for your problem would be to go with a different network - I would recommend either Orange, O2 or T-mobile, but it is your choice :)

As for your your phone, here is a review detailing the phone.

    http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/lg-u3鈥?/a>

    Hope this helps!
i dunno bout that phone but the samsung e900 is a good phone.....and if you dont go with the 3 network then orange is good........hope it helped.....sorry if it didnt :)
A mate had that phone and had trouble with the battery running out v.quickly and the screen kept freezing. I wouldn't recommend 3...my partner was on contract with them and they are a rip off if you go over your package allowance. Orange is usually quite reasonable, especially on PAYG

We had yelled and she said dont call her for a week. after she had keyed my car and dented it for the second time. my friend invited his cousin over, i already knew she liked me. we were all pretty drink and she was flirting with me and me her and her cousin were on the porch and she kissed me. After she kissed me we drank more then we went to sleep togather. We didnt do anything we had all our clothes on and no blankets we were just sleeping in the same bed togahter. so any way i really like this new girl and wanted to know if it was messesd up of me for what i did. i felt really bad, but everyone said i deserve better and she treated me like crap. also its been week since this happenend and i dumpered her the day after. i wanted to know how much i should wait to go out with this new girl. im not really hung up on my old gf, we had went out for 8 months. last 2 months i was miserable. wanted to know how long to wait before going with this new girl, we have kissed a couple times since then. i dont really think bout my ex at allNew relationship advice?
do what you want, its your life....

Just make sure you get rid of the one that keyed your car cuz thats b.s.

1 word of advice...even if they dont like your friends, you should still invite your gf, let her make her own decision to go or not. Thats why that all happened, she text you that trying to get ur attention becuz she probably felt left out. When you exclude your gf from things it makes her feel like you dont want her there thats when fights start.New relationship advice?
well it looks like u dont really have to ask this

    u like the new girl

and u dont like ur ex

Like should I get one in Left ear or both because they say if you get in just right ear it means your gay. Any advice anyone?New Haircut advice? Also should I get earring?
Well maybe you should get the designs in the side of your head like CB , and if you get your ears pierced , I guess get both of them done.

Good luckNew Haircut advice? Also should I get earring?
Yeah that hair is pretty cool, but kind of a lot of people have it (at least at my high school). You should grow out an afro! Afros are freakin' tight!

As for the earring, I don't know what side is gay but I don't think anyone else really knows or cares anyway. I would probalby get only one side.
okay, first of all, - you look pretty, with your haircut, but if you want to change it go ahead.

second - the left ear means straight; right means gay; both means bisexual.
Yeah, you should go for that haircut and I would say get one earring on the left.

New boyfriend advice - experience differences!?

I've been seeing a guy for a few weeks now and I'm completely crazy about him, and he says he feels the same way to. We are both in out 20s, but I am 3 years older than him. I have slept with a few people, but he is very religious and doesn't believe in sex before marriage and hasn't really done anything more than kissing. I am not going to try and get him to sleep with me, I completely respect his decision to wait. But, I do feel really nervous being the more experienced one and also the older one, I don't want him to feel he has to do things to make me happy, and I don't want to push my luck, I guess I'm just saying I'm not too sure how to handle the situation. Also, I've been with someone before where we loved each other so much, but there was just no sexual chemistry between us, so I'd be wary of marrying anyone before we'd slept together. (I know I've only been with this guy a few weeks, so I'm not really thinking long term right now). I'm not religious by the way. I think just advice on how to handle the situation would be great please!New boyfriend advice - experience differences!?
Give him time and if he dosenot change his mind that you cant take risk by marrying someone without knowing if you both fit or not. that dosenot sound fair to you anyway.

    New glasses...advice needed!?

Two days ago I got my new specs from the opticians, Ive never had to wear them before but now apparently my right eye is short sighted and my left is long sighted.

After two days of wearing them all the time like I was told I still see better without them on. Is this normal? My vision through the right lens of my specs is fine but through the left lens of my specs it seems a little hazy. I had a headache all day yesterday but put it down to my eyes getting used to wearing glasses.

The bloody things cost me æ‹¢200 and I would'nt mind if they actually improved my vision. Any one have any advice for me? Why is this? Is it normal?New glasses...advice needed!?
This is somewhat normal. Even though your eyesight is ';corrected'; with the glasses, your eyes were used to working without them, so you will have some eye strain as you get used to them. It should get better every day - keep wearing them. If you are having headaches, blurry vision, watery eyes after a couple weeks, go back and get the prescription rechecked. They can check the glasses to be sure they are your correct prescription - if they are then you may have to have your eyes re-examined. You should not have to pay for any of this since any mistake would be on the part of the optician or eye doctor.New glasses...advice needed!?
You could still be adjusting to them, or they could in all honesty be the wrong prescription or made improperly. Mistakes do happen. Give yourself the rest of the week. If things haven't improved, go back to where you bought the glasses and insist that they check them out.
I have several times been given the wrong lenses in my frames. Bring them back to have them checked. Mistakes do happen.
It may be, that you simply need a period of adjustment to get used to them.

If after about 10 days, you find no improvement, then see the person who dispensed them to you and have them check that the prescription is right.
Give it two weeks for your eyes to adjust; it's possible that you have been given the wrong prescription (it happens sometimes) but it's more likely that your eyes are just taking a while to ';learn'; the new glasses.
Give your eyes some time to adjust. If in 2 weeks you still are not seeing properly, then take them back to the dr to be checked. It usually takes osme time to adjust ot new glasses, especially if you've never worn glasses before.

    New school advice! Please helppp!!!?

Ok. So I've been going to the same school for about 12 years now. It's a very small private school. I like it a lot because, you can't choose your friends, but your automatically attached to them all, because it's so small.

But now, my parents found a new house really far away from the school I go to. So now I have to transfer!! Ugh... I have to go to a new Jr. High. And I'm in the youngest grade, which makes it worse!! And, it has a total of almost 2000 people!! What if a rumor gets spread around or something about me?? My mom and dad keep telling me that everything is going to be fine, but I never listen!

I also feel really insecure about how I look all the time. I'm not fat or anything, but I'm not that teeny tiny skinny legged girl either, like everyone else. And I really don't know the best way to make friends!! I don't want to be the lonely girl sitting alone at lunch all the time! I want to have friends like everyone else! Someone please help me with some advice!!New school advice! Please helppp!!!?
Being the youngest in a grade is nothing to worry about. With 2000 kids i'm sure some will also be new student, and others will want to be friends with you. Don't act like a snob or anything. Act like you have confidence. DON'T act like you need someone to be your friend or you will die, people don't become friends with people like that. If a rumor gets spread about you, you will know about it. Just deny it or make the rumor correct or ignore it. Most likely there will be no rumor spread about you. You will be fine you will make lots of new friends, and keep the old ones. It does matter what you look like. Out of those 2000 students there is probability 0 of them that actually feel secure 100% of the time. Wear you best favorite outfit the first day, that will make you feel even better. Hope i help.New school advice! Please helppp!!!?
Believe it or not almost 2000 isn't that big. My school has about 3000 kids. Anyways age doesn't really affect who wants to be friends with you. There will be kids who will want to be friends with you right away and others who won't pay any attention. Just remember not everyone is that teeny tiny skinny legged girl. And that you won't be the only new kid.
    - If you get to school early, you could find your classrooms. That way you wouldn't get lost during the day (as easily) lol. My high school campus is big and it took me a while to learn my way around.

    - Also, if you'll have a locker (we don't really use them at my high school) when you start school, go find it and maybe practice the lock combination a few times.

    - When I started high school I was nervous and shy and it kinda stuck that way. My advice would be, if you get a good start to the year then it will be easier, so just calm your nerves and try to be yourself.

But don't show off by trying to be funny in front of the whole class or something...since it's the beginning of the year, you won't know your teachers well yet. And you don't want to make a fool of yourself anyway.

    - Pay attention and do your homework! Lol

    - People are generally more open and outgoing during the first couple weeks. They're also more observant. Try to talk to people at the beginning if you want to make friends, and wear good clothes since people will notice them at the start especially. After a couple months of school, everyone gets used to school (or perhaps bored of school) and just hangs out with people they know already.

    - Go to the freshman orientation thing where they teach you about the school, if they have one at the school you'll be going to.

If they don't show you the rules and dress code rules and such, then see if the school has a website and look it up there. My school does that.

    - On first day, make sure you have pencil, paper, etc. in your backpack and just get organized. Make sure you get a bell schedule (they will probably pass them out on first day). My school has a map, it might help you to have one but I found it easier not to use it.

  • New Hunter Advice If you would?

Hello! I am really looking to get into shooting and hunting larger game. I have some gun experience in shooting M16s, but little to no tracking/hunting experience. With hunting season fast creeping up...I was wondering what advice anyone has to offer me.

Here are some of my questions/desires:

    1. If I want to hunt larger game like a bear (in Western PA and WV), what gun would you recommend?

    2. Where are some really beautiful scenic areas to hunt in the same areas mentioned above? I like to think of where they hunted in the Deer Hunter...as its supposed to be in Western PA but something tells me they filmed elsewhere.

    3. Can someone provide a link to properly gutting a deer, fox, or bear?

Any other advice for a newbie? Where to get the proper license and so on.New Hunter Advice If you would?
If your going to hunt bear, you also got to have you a good sized side arm to be used as a backup. If you jump a wild bear at short range with a scoped rifle, forget about trying to use the scope, takes too long to acquire the target, plus you never want to take your eyes off of it.

44 mag. would be one such gunNew Hunter Advice If you would?
All good answers as I begin typing. Also to fill in gaps, try http://www.oldhunterrumors.com/ , and scroll down a lot.
for an all purpose gun, it is hard to beat a bolt action rifle chambered in 30-06. It is much more powerful than an M-16, and with the right bullet, is even a decent gun for grizzly bear.

Plenty of power for elk, deer, and black bear.

as far as Western PA, I have no answers.

as far as 'gutting' animals, what you need to do is google 'field dressing a deer' and 'feild dressing a bear'

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKm42ql7N鈥?/a>
The first thing you need to do is take a hunter education course recognized by the state you are hunting in. Most states recognize Orange Cards from other states so that if you take the course in PA then WV would accept that. You don't mention which is your residence state, so be aware that out of state hunters pay premium for license and tags

As for license and tags, the state you hunt in will have that info on their F%26amp;G or what ever they call themselves web site.they will also have a list of Hunter Ed classes available.

For bear and deer you want something with a little clout--270,308,30-06 are the standards, but there are others. Bolt actions usually have best accuracy, ease of use and best cartridge selections.

As for areas--on your own for those--unless someone more local than me can help. The F%26amp;G folks usually have enough information to get you started, and they sometimes have lists where you can get mentoring from experienced hunters.

As for field dressing animals, there are spots on U Tube and others that have it. It isn't terribly hard to do,but you do need the right tools and a little knowledge.

the links below are good starts for cartridge selection, bullet information and the Montana hunter Ed stuff is pretty straight forward and easy to understand to give you a leg up.

I agree with 14days! looks amazing on you
I like B or D, you have a slight victoria beckham look about you, so you could prob get away with a bob too
Love, love, love, love, love, D! Looks cute on you and fits your facial structure. It looks like your head was made for long hair. I would definently go with D. If you don't like D then B.

    Hope I helped =]
Hmmm... Go a little shorter on D and I think it will turn out pretty well.
I like hairstyle A it goes good with your face shape.

    New puppy advice please?

I'm getting a labrador puppy next month and would like some advice on how to prepare for her, what i will need to buy, any training tips you think would be helpful would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :)New puppy advice please?
You should get a ';puppy pack'; from your breeder telling you how she thinks the puppy should be fed/walked/vaccinated etc.

    Two tips.

Keep her on the same food as the breeder has to avoid a dodgy tummy when she/he first arrives. If you do change then take a good week or so to change gradually.

Also don't overexercise a young large breed pup. 5 mins per day per month of life, and build slowly.New puppy advice please?
The first thing I'd buy is a crate, large enough to see her through to adulthood. This will make is much easier to toilet train, will provide somewhere for 'time out' and will be a place your puppy should feel happy to go when you are out (preventing too many accidents/chewing).

Then I'd sort out insurance. You can get lots of different kinds of covers, depending on which you think is best.

You need to prepare any existing animals for the arrival. Ask if you can leave a couple of old blankets with the puppies. Bring one home a week before you pick the puppy up, to let existing animals get used to the smell. Bring the second blanket home with the puppy - the smell will be reassuring and will help her settle.

You need to take your dog to vets as soon as possible after collection - that way you can always return her if she is found to have serious medical problems. It will be easier to do this if everyone hasn't already got too attached to her. This is also a good chance to discuss spaying her, unless you want to breed from her.

Look into local puppy training classes - these will help teach the basics, and will also help your puppy's socalisation.

Buy things like a soft collar (don't spend too much as she will grow out of it in a matter of weeks!), and a lightweight lead. A longer lightweight lead is good for training around the house, and for training the recall in a few months.

Get the puppy's idenity tag sorted out, with your address, and two contact numbers. Get your puppy microchipped as soon as possible - this is the best way to ensure you will get her back if she goes missing/is stolen.

Buy a small selection of reasonably cheap puppy toys, that will withstand chewing.

Make sure your house/garden is puppy proof - no trailing wires, no unfenced ponds, no holes in fencing and so on.

I think that's about it. I know it's a long answer, but there's so much information to know about bringing up a puppy! Good luck, and have fun!
    Puppy Supplies List:

Here is a list of the things you will need to have on hand to start your puppy's new life in your family home. Many of these you can comparison shop for in Walmart vs. Petsmart. You can save a ton of money in Walmart for the exact same thing at one-third the cost.

1-Crate to sleep in, every dog needs a safe place to sleep or nap.

2-Airline carry kennel for trips to the vet or around town.

3-Baby gate(s) to contain your puppy to areas that are allowed.

4-Exercise pen for providing an area to play safely outside the crate or kennel to learn housebreaking habits.

5-Soft towels or baby blankets as they are the right size to start.

6-Newspapers or puppy housebreaking pads if you so choose.

7-Bowls for food and water, heavy pottery so they don't tip over.

Stainless steel bowls tip easily but are easy to clean with clorox.

8-Puppy No-tears shampoo, or Dial anti-bacterial liquid hand soap to start. White dogs will need Pearl or Super White to keep white.

If they really get grimy or into compost Mane-n-Tail makes a good anti-fungal, anti-rain rot that will clean anything. Dilute for puppies.

9-Nail clippers if you are experienced. A dog's vein system ends at the toenails. If you cut them too short it is possible they can bleed to death if not stopped. Have styptic powder or pencils on hand and have a vet teach you how to clip puppy nails properly before doing it yourself. Black toenails are especially hard to judge where the quick is. Clear nails you can see where it ends. Be careful.

10-Tennis balls, squeaky balls, any strong ball to chase.

11-Greenies to help clean their teeth. Or you can brush their teeth.

12-Harness instead of a collar at a young age. Their bones are not fully developed until after 4 -6 months of age. If they pull or tug too hard and jerk their neck with a collar on, it can do harm or break their necks. Save the collar for just the ID tage until they're a little older.

13-I.D. Tags are a must as are getting the pup microchipped.

14-Leashes, a 4-6 ft. to start training and a 8 - 10 ft. longer one later. Retractable or regular is a choice up to you and what you are used to using.

15-Spray bottle with a mixture of 3 parts water and 1 part vinegar to spray on accidents on the carpets. This takes the smell away so they won't consider it their marked area and return to leave deposits.

16-Arm n'Hammer Vacuum Free foam carpet spray deodorizer. This stuff really works well. Spray it, walk away and forget it.

17-List of books on JRT recommended books page.

18-An extra dose of patience for you on the days you wonder who is training who.

19-Dog towels separate from house towels so you don't get them mixed up.

20-Dog bed once your pup has learned what is allowed to chew and what is not allowed. (If they chew up the new dog bed anyway, don't bother buying another one. Just use towels and blankets that are easy to wash.)

And if you don't know how to train a dog then you shouldn't be getting one.

    i wouldn't suggest changing a thing. :)Need a new look...Advice (pics inside)=]?
I think you look very pretty. But instead of braids you should try perming your hair for a strait look.
    Hi,

    u look great!

Well, but for a change i would try straight hair. I dont really like the one curly pic, but u look better in the other two, where ur hair is close to ur head, and doesnt cover ur face. I really think straight hair would look lovely on u. I dont think u should change colour though ;)

Then, u really do need to get proper eyebrows. Get rid of those rebel ones in the corners and comb them upsides. Then, when doing ur make up, i would emphasize ur eyes, coz theyr beautiful! Also ur lips, but ur eyes are cool! Use eyeliner (i go for black), and rimmel to enhance ur lashes.
I couldn't open your photos, but if you ask me, it's natural to get bored with your look. Go to your local hairstylish and tell them you are interested in a new look, maybe a new winter color or cut. They know best, and know what length is good for you and what color is good for your skin town and eye color. As far as make up goes, visit the mac counter @ the mall and experiment. Make up is temporary. Try lighter and darker tones and you'll be fine, and ready to face the world.
go to a stylist and get it straightened. that would look adorable. i dont think u really need make up tho, maybe like natural colors, or lite pinks.
Have you ever tried straightening your hair with a flat iron?, that would look pretty!
Put more eye makeup on...make your eyes look smoky.
First of all, you are beautiful!! You have great eyes and a beautiful smile. If you wanted to try something different, maybe add a shimmery eye shadow (like the gel kind that you get in pencil form). Try a neutral color, like a tan or cream color. Add a little eyeliner to the bottom of your eyes and maybe some mascara. And if you wanted to be adventurous with your hair, maybe try straightening it to see how it would look on you. I think you look great the way you are though!
Cool, maybe perm and straighten your hair out would be great. You look really pretty; I wish I knew you.
Black eyeliner and gold toned eye shadows. Lots of mascara. A sheer blush, just something that will give you a little sparkle, and a medium pink lipstick and a clear lip gloss. You have nice lips and keep your hair out of the braids.

I hope this gives you some ideas.
I think you should get rid of the braids and put you hair like this: http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1574096 and an outfit like that too, it would give a fresh and polished look! You can find some more things like that at forever21.com
    wow, you're pretty. :]

You could get your hair chemically relaxed...i have a friend who got that done and her hair looks beautiful, a bit less poofy and the curls a little looser. Your eyes are really pretty and I agree that the smoky look would be great.
I agree with the first answer, you need smoky eyes. You have gorgeous eyes, so gold eyeshadow and black eyeliner will make them stand out. Straighten your hair, and put some peach ligloss on.You're a very girl.

    Peace!
    aww your so pretty!

I think maybe all you need to do is wear lipgloss in a light color, pink or maybe a light shimmery plum. and wear mascara, and use a tannish/whittish shimmer on your brow bones to accent them, maybe style your eyebrows too, that will give you a huge change

Your hair looks great in the first picture
    how about pink eye shadow?
ur so pretty! since youre young, I would just suggest simple lip gloss. i have similar hair to you (im mixed) i relax my hair myself...i buy ';just for me';. its a children's relaxer and its not as strong as the adult kind. it works good and its only like 4 bux! your hair will come out smoother and reduce the frizz. good luck! :)
    GO SHOPPING AT URBAN OUTFITTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think you look gorgeous(no homo)

and u dont need make up. or anything to change..
i think you should straiten your hair it'll look really nice on you. and you should wear eyeliner and eyeshadow it'll make you look pretty. :)

    Move to New York. Advice?

    Moving to N.Y.C Advice?

Hi all Im 21 years old and am planning on moving to New York very soon. I have saved 10,000 for the move. Will that be enough to get me started?? I don't have a job yet so hoping the 10,000 will hold me over for a couple months till I find a good one. I wll have a car and I am very willing to live in a not so good neighborhood to start with. I just don't want to end up on the streets. lol Thank You.

You'd be surprised how little $10,000 is in NYC, and, like the first answerer said, it will get eaten up very fast. Try to find a job BEFORE you move, scour Craigslist for cheap apartments (look for ones that include all utilities in the rent). Maybe try to find a roommate to cut down on costs. Plan on making nearly all your meals at home and almost never going out to eat. Don't bring a car! Everything is more expensive in NY (actually, in the whole Northeast part of the country). A movie ticket in SC will cost you $7, in NY $10. Same with cigs, fast food, etc. Just be smart and don't make any rash decisions. Carefully plan and have a very god idea what it's going to cost you once you get to NYC. Best of luck, and I hope I helped.Move to New York. Advice?
I highly suggest you find a job first because the 10k will evaporate quickly if you don't... you can find a rent for say 800 which will take up 1600 to rent and then connecting electricity, phone, food ,gas are you bringing furniture? consider all this... get a job before you move so you can preserve your savings.
to get good apartments will all you need like a washer, dryer, a nice kitchen, a bedroom, they can cost a lot more then you think. and what happens if the bank turns you down since you dont have a job? you need to find a very good Realtor who will help you, 10,000 is a lot, but it wont last long. you need clothes, food, and the bills. try to think what you spend in a month. its a lot. be careful.
Stay where you are - jobs are tough enough, we don't need another person competing for the same job as 100 other people.
