What do i feed my brand new puppy, i'm needing advice!!?

we won't be able to go and pick him up for another two weeks, but we adopted him today :) but i'm unsure of what to feed him, with all this talk lately now i don't know if i trust IAMS to be the best, can anyone help me find out if IAMS is still good dog food. thanks. What do i feed my brand new puppy, i'm needing advice!!?
Forget Iams.Nutros is better. I swear by it. Nutros Max is unnecessary unless your puppy is needing extra supplements. This brand does not use a bunch of fillers and is naturally preserved with vitamin e. Find it at a feed and grain store or pet store.

You may think it is more expensive than the cheap foods but it is more concentrated also.

Be sure to find out what the puppy has been eating and transition him to the new food gradually by mixing increasing amounts with the former food. What do i feed my brand new puppy, i'm needing advice!!?
Iams and Eukanuba are completely safe, I've fed Eukanuba for 15 years and never had a problem with the food. MY shepherds have beautiful coats, healthy skin, bright eyes and their health is excellent. The only dry food that is recalled is Hill's Prescription Diet for cats

These foods are not on the recall list, and do not get their ingredients from the affected suppliers.

With everything going on i the dog food world now I'd be very careful. Iams is one of my least favorite anyway. I try to stay away from anything that has meat-byproduct listed. Make sure you read the Menu foods recall list. I like Nature's Variety and Exclusive (from Purina Mills). My dogs (2 American Bulldogs, 1 Shep/Rott/Chow mix %26amp; 1 Staffordshire Bull Terrier) do performance events-obedience, agility, %26amp; flyball and have done very well on these foods. Good luck with your new baby!
IAMS has never been a good food.... never, and it never will.

I'm sure all of those 'experienced' ';vet techs'; will come around this corner and tell you what to feed your pet because they 'know better than everyone'. But anyway, I feed my dogs TimberWolf Organics. It is NOT involved with the recall in any way because it only contains good things. You can visit; Timberwolforganics.com there are also some other good food as well. chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com royalcanin.com and some others.
Our vet highly suggests Hills Science Diet. You need to go to a pet store or your vet to buy it, but they are really the best food. Science diet is the industry standard, doesn't deviate from the recipe, and is not more expensive than other dog food. Our vet says it is the only one that is consistently consistent. If you test the food today and then test it again in 6 months, the make up will be the same. Always. Also, they did not use any of the wheat gluten and was not recalled. So, it should be safe!

Our dogs have consistently been fed Science diet and we are frequently complimented on our dogs' coats and composition. You get to feed them less and they stool less as well. All together it is a great package.
We use Science Diet and love it!
I feed my puppy this great food called ';Wellness'; i use the puppy formula(in a pink bag) she loves the taste and its full of all natural ingredients such as blueberries, sweetpotatoes......ect...... plus it wasnt of that list of recall foods so thats a plus : ) This is top quality food and i highly reccomend it. good luck and have fun with your new puppy!
I feed my dog California Natural. Check out the website.
IAMS is very unhealthy food. Its full of fillers and by products. If you want to a healthy food with no fillers or by products try Innova, California Natural or Karma.

Also there is Blue Buffalo: http://www.bluebuff.com/

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul is really good also!:

Wheat Gluten is NOT used in any of the products so you don't have to worry about the food recall.

Hope that helped!
