Any advice for New Year's activities?

I'm thinking I might enjoy just laying low this New Year's and hanging out at home. Have you ever done this before? What are some of the best rituals you have discovered?Any advice for New Year's activities?
every time i've ever done this, i've fallen asleep before midnight. you could watch SNL, the ball dropping, etc. I can't tell if you are going to be alone
