Advice for buying new car insurance (21 yr old, male)?

I鈥檓 21 year old, male, college student. I just got my driver license. This is my first time getting car insurance since I had never needed it before.

I need insurance for a 2007 Mazda CX-7 or 2007 Toyota RAV 4 (full cover)Advice for buying new car insurance (21 yr old, male)?
You'd have been better off getting your license a few years before you got your first car.

If possible, you'll probably do better dealing with your parent's insurance agent. If your parents are good clients, they'll probably do what they can to help you get a good rate as a favor to your parents.

A saying in the industry is with a new driver who has their own car, it's not a question of if they'll have an accident, but how bad it will be. That's based mostly on kids who are 16-18 years old. The fact you're 21 should make you a more mature and safer ';risk';. But you're still inexperienced.

In insurance, ';boring and responsible'; are good things. A good credit rating helps. In my neck of the woods, many companies reserve their best rates for people who carry above average limits of liability. This would be more likely to help you after you've got a couple of years of experience, but

asking for options above the state minimum for liability might score you some responsibility points with your agent.

See how higher deductibles will affect your premium. a $500 deductible for collision is probably a no brainer. A $1000 (or even higher) deductible may make sense for you - part of it will depend on the area where you live.

Areas with lots of people and lots of ice and snow tend to have higher rates than more rural areas with warmer weather.

The guy who told you to change companies often is wrong. You're better off building a long term relationship with an agent because if/when you do have a problem, a long term relationship means you're more likely to get better treatment, and they're less likely to drop you.Advice for buying new car insurance (21 yr old, male)?
It would be better to get some professional advice from websites like http://oktutorial.com/debtadvice.htm than relying on yahoo answers.
Since you are under 25 years old and have brand new car, you will pay higher insurance. Here is an article about tips to save on student car insurance http://carsinsurancetips.com/student-car-insurance.php

Also shop around get your best deal is a essential step to get your first car insurance.

depends where you live!
Heaven help you, nobody down here will!
say that you keep it in a locked garage, and that you only do a few thousand miles you are still covered if you do more and if some one steels the car from the supermarket or outside your house they put premium up if you don't say this but makes no difference if you need to claim insurance is a scam, and also when you come to renew at end of year don't use renewal, cancel and start a new one because all discounts are set up for new customers only, you can use the same company as well they don't like it much because someone loses there commission, but you will save a lot of money doing this insurance companies are modern day robbers.

I'm starting a new job and am worried about my dog being home alone, advice please?

I got a new job that I'm starting on Monday. 8-5 and it's too far of a commute to come home for lunch so my dachshund Oliver will be home alone all that time by himself. Ever since I've had him, I've worked from home, so he's never been alone for that long.

I have kongs, toys, bully sticks, and other stuff to occupy him so hopefully that would help. I would put him in doggy day care but I don't think I could afford it. Any suggestions? Am I worrying too much??? He is potty trained and not a barker, I';m just worried he will be really lonely... :(I'm starting a new job and am worried about my dog being home alone, advice please?
Do you have a neighbor or a friend that could take care of him for you? Leaving him alone all that time is not a good idea. You should consider getting another dog from a shelter. They are not typically expesnsive and need loving homes. Although it would not be a good idea to purchase a new dog on a day you are working as it will need time to adjust to you and it's new surroundings. By the way, I was reading a new study on dogs the other day, and it said that the last thing your dog sees you doing before you leave, is a big trigger for the dog to destroy the it. You MIGHT be able to leave your dog outside if you have a big enough yard and an electric collar (or a fenced in yard.) Just amke sure you supply food and fresh, cool water, and lot's of toys! Also, please, please, please don't cage him! That is the absolute WORST thing you could ever do if you are gone!!! Your dog will already be scared because you are gone, but he will have nowhere to go and will also be stressed out because of the limited space he has, and he will most likely have to use the bathroom while you are gone. Could you possibly bring him to work with you? If you need any more help, please contact me CharmedLvr2332@aol.com

Good Luck!! Let me know what you decide!

Also leave the tv on for him!!! That's reallly important! But nothing where there is screaming or crying, as that will upset him even more. Try a channel like Disney, r Nick. I wouldn't do nimal planet because seeing other animals could upset him to.I'm starting a new job and am worried about my dog being home alone, advice please?
You may be over reacting a bit. My advice is to graduatly let him/her know that you will be leaving.Go to the store, if you come back and he has been good, give him a treat, if not, let him or her see and realize he or she hasn't done good and give them nothing.
You should try it for a few days to see how he does. If he is really, really lonely, maybe you could get him a buddy to play with?
Leave the TV on for him tuned to Animal Planet, that will keep him company, your other option is to get another doggie to keep him company or a cat. You can also leave the radio on.
a dog loves attension if theres someone whos there when your not then thats fine

but if you want a happy healthy dog you should take your dog with you if possible

if u can't take your dog with you give it some exercise before you go so it will rest more when your gone and if you want you can leave some music on the sound of voices calms the dog if worried
I think he will be Ok. You may have a bit of adjustment but most dogs do well on their own.

As long as there is something to do or watch he should be fine.

One thing though. Do not act like it is a big deal. If you treat him differently when you leave and come back he will think there is something terribly wrong and get anxious. Just say goodbye as you normally would when you leave in the morning and when you return in the evening just act like you were just out for a few minutes. His primary concern will probably be that you are all right so if he sees you are fine then he will not worry.
He will be fine. Maybe consider doggie day care for a few days a week. Maybe would be affordable and give him something to do for some of the days you are gone so long. Do you have anyone who can look in on him during the day at least once? Just have to be creative. If you can't do any of this, your dog should be fine, but could become bored and might make up his own fun. You may not like what he does.
You can leave the tv on or a radio that will help. I have to leave my dog alone and she reacts somewhat just dog proof things that he can get into and you won't come home to WWIII when you come home from work. Good luck

instead of doggy daycare why don't you look into have a private dog walker come in to take him for a 30 minute walk mid-day? if you use a smaller pet sitting company, then you will get a pretty fair price. stay away from franchised companies because they charge more. most importantly make sure they are bonded and insured and can show you proof that they are.

I can't think of a name for my new dog. Advice?

I just got a female rottweiler puppy yesterday night and i still can't come up with a cool name for her. I want it to be a unique name instead of something cliche like ';killer';. I want to name her after a nordic godess but the names don't seem like they fit right and i want a name we can all agree with... Any advice on figuring out a name? Thank you.I can't think of a name for my new dog. Advice?
What about Anya? I know only one other female rottie with this name and she really is a big softie. My female rott is called Nya (pronounced to rhyme with hiya). She is just 8 months old and an absolute sweetie. Our other old girl is called narla (the other sp for this is nala taken from the lion king). As yet I have never met anyone in person who has dogs with these names and at the vets we are the only ones listed to have dogs named as such.

( There was one lady on Answers with a dog named nala but I know of no one else.)

Hope this helpsI can't think of a name for my new dog. Advice?
I went to the web and looked up names when I needed to rename my horse. I knew I wanted it to be an Indian name so I looked up Indian names and their meanings. I found the perfect one for him. But for my dog, I waited for a little bit knowing that I wanted the name to ';fit'; him. Sure enough, a little while later my favorite song from Godsmack came on and there it was... I named my Dobe ';Sully Voodoo'; We called him Sully. My cat was named after Stewie from the Family Guy because you could just see the little instigator in him.
Ok. What color is she?

If she's brown you could call her brownie or chocolate.

If she's white or yellow, you could name her vanilla.

If she's black name her diamond.

If you want some ';fierce'; names, try something like klondike or boxer or radar, maybe even fang. you can go to this website for 2,000 dog names: http://petrix.com/dognames/index.html , or you can go here for some female puppy names: http://www.babydognames.com/popular.htm
Make something up. Try different names, or combinations of names, etc. Or make up a new name or word and use it on her. See what she responds to. Or maybe name her something in German. I know a Newfoundland named Berlin. The dog really does look like one.

Understand that it won't be unique if we come up with the names.
Uzume was a japanese goddess. Its a unique name and you can read about her below.

Also Indian goddess Sarama would be perfect...very doggy inspired....look up the meaning on the attached reference. On that site there are heaps of different names from different regions..there should be one at least that you find suits her.

I hope you find the right name for your pup.

Ebay: I'm thinking of trying to sell some items on Ebay. Do you have any advice for a brand new seller?

Advice for a new seller, from a previous highly rated seller.

1. Check out all of the fees including e-payment fees before you sell so you're not blindsided by the amount of fees.

2. Respond clearly to questions from e-bay members. Check your e-mail several times a day during the first few days, and then repeatedly as the sale nears the end. You might have a prospective buyer submitting a last minute question.

3. Describe your merchandise as clearly and as honestly as possible. Note any flaws with the item - and check it over 3 times.

4. CLEARLY state your policys - shipping cost, not returnable, when they may expect to receive the item after the auction ends, and anything else you need to make crystal clear.

5. Stock up on your shipping supplies - mailers, bubble wrap, boxes, stamps, etc.

6. Have fun and don't let it consume all of your time!Ebay: I'm thinking of trying to sell some items on Ebay. Do you have any advice for a brand new seller?
Hi,

1) Don't try to find hot selling items. Much of your success depends on HOW you sell and not WHAT you sell.

2) Learn how to optimise the listings including the right keywords.

3) A must-have is an appealing product picture on the listing.

4) The listing must be easy-to-scan to make your visitors stay at the listing - not leave within a few seconds.

5) Loads of stuff you can learn from a 5 day Free Video Course from a website below.

    New webdesigner looking for advice?

Hope someone can help. When it comes to images, for media in general do you have to request permission to use media photos video etc., is there a shared pool of images and media that you can use in your sites? Any advice much appreciated or any other tips please feel free!

Thanks, New webdesigner looking for advice?
there are 2 types of stock images available. I will explain briefly here the difference.

Royalty Free Stock Images are widely available and suitable for use in many areas. There are a couple of very good suppliers which catalogues of millions of images - Istockphoto and 123RF. 123RF also allow members to access to free images too!

Rights Managed Stock Images are used in the print, media and advertising industry and usually have quite restrictive licenses over their use. Such as only appearing in a limited number of copies printed, used only in a certain territory, etc.

I'll include a link to a page I am working on explaining about stock images, though currently it's work in progress and I hope to have it finished totally in the next week, it still has some relevant info, just more needs to be added! - http://www.squidoo.com/Stock-PhotographsNew webdesigner looking for advice?
Images that are available for you to use are called ';stock images';. A lot of the time you have to pay to use them but you can find websites that have free sections. If you search ';stock images'; on google you can find lots of sites. Some of my favorites are:

    Advice on new parenting?

mothers tend not to inform their daughters of the trials and tribulations in having a child, why?Advice on new parenting?
I blame my mother for not sharing the trial and tribulations with me. She made it seem so easy. When i was a girl, she would go so far as criticizing other mothers for being lazy. I didnt think it would be difficult at all bc she said it would all come naturally. Yeah, sure it came naturally but she didnt say anything about the nerves! she didnt say that every noise the baby made would wake me up and shoot me out of bed like a rocket, only to find that the baby was just stretching. Then she didnt tell me that once i got real comfy and asleep, the baby will wake me up again. She didnt tell me about nursing blisters (apparently she didnt have them), she didnt tell me about the depression (apparently she had it, but didnt tell me bc she wanted me to ';find out for yourself';), and she didnt tell me that although my husband had the intentions to help in everyway he can, he just could NOT breastfeed or change a diaper before the baby gets mad. I dont know why she didnt tell me. Maybe bc it sounds like complaining and my mom doesnt complain.

Will i tell my daughter? yes, i will, and i will tell her that it may sound like i am complaining, but im not, i am just stating cold-hard facts.Advice on new parenting?
Every mother I know has shared information about parenting with their daughters. If yours hasn't, there are some great books and websites out there such as What to Expect When You're Expecting and babycenter.com
